After getting such a quick response to my last post about my K1 being transferred and reading on the rest of the forums that a lot of people are going the same way i thought that i would help out a little.

I have e-mailed our lawyers and basically asked them the 2 questions that everyone else seems to be asking and waiting on USCIS to answer..

Why have we been transferred?

Do we go to the back of the line and start again with the wait?

I will let you know as soon as i get an answer

Hope this will help everyone

Ok ive finally got a reply from the lawyer.

We were transferred because Nebraska is getting very very busy and is now the slowest for K1 visa's in the country. According to our lawyer it should reduce the waiting time by about a month.

As for if we are going to the back of the line...im not sure. I am going to e-mail them again when i get home from work tonight... they have been very evasive with their replies saying that Cali is the fastest.. we shouldnt have to wait as long etc. No definite Yes or No on if we are at the back of the line re June 1st.

Ill keep you all posted

But Nebraska's times have thus far been faster than California's. And wasn't someone else told by their lawyer that this was part of a restructuring, and the centers "specializing" in certain visas. I don't think we will ever know the real reason, frankly. But I will cling to the "speed things up by a month" part anyhow! :)

04/13/06 - I-129F mailed

The whole "speed things up by a month" thing is just dandy for those of us who were, based on Nebraska's timeline trends, due to be approved right around the time of the transfer.

I'm inclined to believe this has more to do with restructuring than anything else, though I really do wish it could have happened just a few weeks later.

Im with everyone so far that is saying that Nebraska was quicker. When i changed the service centre on my timeline is added a week to the wait. I personally think that it is to do with getting centres to specalise in different areas. Well lets wait and see whats going on.

Strange is that even on the new draft of the I129F they advise people to send their petitions to the same service centers.

I read they´re about to implement a new system to divide the workload, like Vermont will deal with worker visas only, the other will do K visas only, etc, they´ll go slowly changing those for the future.

The completly unconfirmed rumor is that Cali will turn into a K1 super center of sorts with Nebraska, and I guess maybe Texas taking on some of the other types of petitions instead of Cali.

12/17/06 - Married!

AOS Process a fading memory...
