How long did it take you to vote today

5 minutes. I asked them to see what write-ins they had, they showed me, I had a small notecard with me that I wrote down how I'd vote so it was pretty quick. I refused the electronic machines and used the simple, connect-the-arrows thingy.
Wait - I'm confused. Why did you have to have a cheat sheet for your vote??

Firstly, because there were 12 initiatives. 2 of them dealt with energy, one of them I didn't agree with in WHO would get the funding, one of them a waste of money on rehabilitation too vast to cover all recidivists. Didn't feel like doing any more thinking, so last night looked it up on Wiki, knew pretty quickly based upon the funding and who things would benefit how I would vote.

There were other people I had to write in. And a few local initiatives.

One interesting thing is San Francisco has Prop. K which legalizes prostitution.

We're are also naming a sewer system after George W. Bush.

15 min. Though the other precinct that votes at the same voting local as me was at least an hour. Our line was 3 people deep and theirs was out the door. I'm glad I live in the county I do as my friends that live in the next one over had a 3 hour wait.

I parked at my apartment, which is across the street from the polling place. So I'd have to up it to 6 minutes because I had to walk a bit more.

No line. In fact, nobody in there.

Much different than the atmosphere where I work, in the 'hood. It was like a party all day! People shouting at each other across the room, me running through the polling area to chase a child who belonged to someone else, and a bunch of my clients standing outside the center as they often do, one of whom kept screaming, "Vote for Obama and there'll be no drama!"

Yeah, it's a lot easier when you vote against everything (:

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Prop K legalizing prostitution where there is a high incidence of HIV in that population?,,who was the genius that spawned that idea?

There's a much better chance of combating disease when you legalize prostitution.

That means there can be legal ramifications for having HIV and prostituting. Not just jail or fines, but worse.

What this would do is create oversight of prostitution and regulate it like any other business.

I hope San Franciscans vote for this.

About 10 minutes... Most of my time was spent just parking!

That's not what my co-workers were reporting though, which were long lines and long waits, but they voted in the AM, and I voted in the PM.

You all got lucky. It took me 4 hours to vote today, and I was there when the polls opened this morning. It was an absolute nightmare. They only had 4 machines at our precinct, and it was pretty disorganized.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

So, here's the thing I can't figure out - for the people where there are long lines and such bound to be - why not vote early or absentee?? What possible incentive can there be?

Talking to folks around here... early voting wasn't much better either... 1 hour + waits as well...

It was a ####### shoo either way in some districts...
