Okay so today I received my EAD card and Advanced Parole

Do I need to make an appointment at my local social security office or do I just walk in?

and what documentation do I need to bring to prove I am eligible besides passport, EAD card/letter, drivers license?

10/13/10 - NOA1 date, received 10/18

No appointment necessary - you can download the SS-5 HERE.

  • Immigration status;
  • Work eligibility;
  • Age;
  • Identity (Passport or State issued ID)
  • Marriage Certificate (if changing name).

:thumbs:

p.s.

You should always have your DL with you (especially if you're driving)..

The EAD is nothing to do with removing conditions. When you get your GC (assuming you are married for less than 2 years), it will be a 2 year one, and you remove conditions just before that expires. If you are already married for more than 2 years, you will get the 10 year unconditional GC straight away :)

thanks :)

and on the EAD card there is an expiration date, is that when I can apply for removal of conditions? Or will that tell me on the GC?

The EAD is an interim benefit valid for 1 year... Your greencard is what you will need to remove conditions on and the date of expiration (2 yrs. from date of approval) will be indicated on it. The EAD date and the GC date are not related.

Seems appropriate to ask here - do you have to sign the EAD? I ask because I haven't seen one and am trying to concoct a list of documents for when I get my driver's license - I don't have anything yet with my married signature. Thanks!
