Ah, maybe. Maybe not. He certainly can't keep most of his promises in this financial climate. Be prepared to be disappointed.

Ya know, even if he CAN'T lower taxes, we'll still be better off. We'll have gained back a little bit of the respect that the rest of the world lost for us. That, IMO, is more important than an extra $300/year savings in taxes.

Taxing the mega-corporations will affect us both alike. These are the lenders to small businesses as well as employers. If they pay more, then AGAIN, they will have to lay off people, cut benfits..etc etc etc. Its not that difficult to understand.

And, apparently, you can't detail Obama's plan because he HAS NOT offered a detailed plan. Again, the leftists just being sheep and following along.

And Obama said that he intends to "audit' these programs, NOT "drop" them. McCain intend to freeze and then cut.

They're laying people off ANYWAYS. Sure business taxes are too high. Look around the world in other first world nations that understand unless you want to be entirely overrun with low quality foreign made products at the cheapest production cost, you tax businesses less.

Then, in this country, and how we deal with income tax, right now it's clear the tax burden lies upon the middle and lower class. This is a product of the "tax cuts to the rich" being far too long term. If these tax cuts WORKED (remember the Bush tax cuts we've been under for over half a decade??), we wouldn't be having such a huge problem, but again we've been under Bush's tax cuts with an increasing deficit. So what's the accomplishment? A HIGHER DEFICIT AND LESS JOBS. Higher and lower taxes should, and normally IS, relative to who the tax burden falls upon. The middle and lower class tend to be the high spenders in every case, so if you place the burden on them, AND you have rich people getting taxed less while not providing jobs, you're fvcked.

And NEITHER candidate has any detailed tax plan. It's far too vague and, being President, neither wouldn't create/amend the legislation anyways, unless they want to follow Bush's route of signing statements, i.e. line item veto.

I have the day off today, so I am watching Fox News and have to seriously chuckle... The ticker to the bottom right of the screen flashes from "1 Day Left" to "America's Election HQ's" to "Fair and Balanced." Talk about drinking cool aid! It is virtually all about McCain, including several cuts of McCain and Palin giving speeches, and beating to death the only poll they can find that puts McCain just slightly behind Barack Obama. There has not been one sound bite from Obama... Not one commentator making anything even remotely resembling a fair and balanced comment...
