I was given an AOS packet at the local USCIS office that came with a checklist of documents, etc. needed to process the AOS. The IO used a yellow highlighter to show which of the documents applied to our case. She highlighted several documents that I see no reference to in any other information on VJ or in the instruction sections of the forms I-485, I 325A, I 864, I 131, or I 765.

She indicated we need divorce decrees (both his and mine) from every previous marriage. (These were provided as a part of the I-129 process). She indicated that I as the petitioner need to submit a 325A with 2 photos, and a copy of my birth certificate. (the instructions for the I 864 specifically states that I don't need to submit proof of citizenship because I did that as a part of the I 129 process...)

I'm confused... is it possible these were marked in error since the checklist she gave me is for both I 485 and I-130 cases???

Not that I can't provide all of this, but it seems like overkill... or there's a section missing from the VJ site's checklist... (I'm betting she's wrong, not VJ... ;)

The IO probably wasn't taking the prior documents submitted with the I-129F into consideration.

The documents you supplied with I-129F don't matter. This is a whole new application. When adjusting status from a k-1, the US citizen does not have to complete a G-325A or include any photos. Only the applicant does.

It's probably that the CIS employee made an error, they have been known to do that once in a while. Follow, the VJ checklist, it's right on the money. If you are not sure, read the form instructions, rather than follow the suggestions of any CIS employee.

While I absolutely agree with the above... I would not show up to the interview short any identified and or requested documents.

YMMV
