hello out there

i was wondering if anyone had this happen to them. ineligible to receive visa. must send to state department for review. time 3 months.

they said to my wife that someone with same name is in U.S. illegally. crazy thing!!!! i cant believe that these guys are so in incompentant in our government. i live in arizona and i see many illegals all over the place.

but with that said i would like to find out best course of action

Really sorry to hear that, but at least they haven't sent it back to USCIS, which means it's not denied outright. I guess the DoS needs to conduct an investigation in order to confirm that she is not the other person. At least they've given you a time frame. Hopefully that's an overestimate.

At this point I would strongly advice involving your congressman or ####### Cheney or someone? Explain the mistaken identity clearly to them and hopefully there might be some extra leverage applied in your case.

I am sorry to hear that!!! But you know there is too many people in this world with the same name (Common names) doesn't mean that your wife should be the ding for it :( I would get your congressman involved.. This is NOT right!!!

I am sorry to hear this. They give the 3 month answer so they have time to verify that your wife is not the one who is in the country illegally. Once they clear that up, you should have no problems. They will probably schedule another interview for your wife and then issue the visa soon after that.

Eric time to stand tall. Call your congremen and senator office and write to them.

This is another nail in the coffin.

DOS will review it. But NVE always does the name nad security check before sending to the USE in foreign country.

One thing that is puzzling me is what the heck NVC did before sending to USE.

Now DOS will check with their data base.

Your wife will eventually get it but the pain your family will have to beare for no fault of yours...this is unjust.

Try to call the Visa Office in DC. I am not sure but they might be more help to you and they should explain what is required to be done.

seems like they put ur wife in administrative processing for name check.. or so..

call dept of state and see what they say.. ask them if they received your file, and what the latest update or when it was done to ur case

i know this is unfair

call ur congressmans office and they will do an inquiry for you and embassy will respond back with something

keep us updated

i think this is what my husband in going thru..

name check clearance.. we were told 4-6 weeks but its been past that..

we are hoping soon we get teh clearance and he is issued the visa inshAllah!
