I can't speak for VW, obviously, but I can for myself, and I am happy to say that I've not lived under communism so far, and don't wish to have to in the future, especially in America, a country that has resisted adopting socialism as an ideological position thus far. Nonethless, that doesn't preclude me from knowing the difference between life and liberty as I know it, and life under socialism, (one step away from a communist arrangement). Look, the fact is that capitalism utilizes the drive and willpower of enterprising individuals to foment economic activity. The critical element is that this economic activity is not just self-serving, but it further propels others that are not so driven towards economic success as well. All I am saying is that forced government redistribution of wealth goes against the basic tenets of capitalism.

Should massive redistribution of wealth be forced on the rich?

Only if we wish to live as those do under communism!

So, according to you, what I heard on the radio is correct. The dude said that only the income ABOVE $250,000 would be taxed at 39%, and that everything up to that point would still be taxed at 36%, so in otherwords in this scenario only $50,000 would be taxed at 39%.

I've never really checked this out before, but is that the way our current tax system also works? I always assumed that every penny you make is taxed at the same rate so if you made $252,000 a year you would actually take home less than if you made $250,000. Now that I think about it, that doesn't make sense.
