certificate translate to english ?

hi everybody iam a peruvian girl whose boyfriend is going to aply for fiance visa and well i have a doubt and i would like if soembody knw about it can answer to me ....i have my certificate birth in spanish and i heared i have to send that in eglish ...who can translate it ? and what are the requirememnts to do that ...if somebody had his fiance in a spanish country i will apreciate your help ..

Well, when he sends the I129f petition he won't have to send your birth certificate with it.

And when you need to get something translated, it won't have to be a certified translation. Jusk ask the person translating it to sign an statement saying he/she is fluent in English. Here's an example:

Certification by Translator

I typed name , certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ........... languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled..............

Signature

Date Typed Name

Address

If you still want to get certified translations you can go to the website of the US Embassy in Peru and they'll have a list of translators there.

You do not need to have your Birth Certificate translated. You never need to do that until you are in the U.S and you Adjust Status.... In your country.. The Embassy in your country accepts documents in spanish... Because spanish is the countries language... You only need to have your documents translated in English when you submit them to USCIS in the U.S.A....

I would recommend getting it translated just to be save. Missing documents, if they were to ask for the translation, can cause a significant delay in the issuance of the visa. Good luck

Hi Jacquie,

Please fill in your timeline so that we could help you better. You do not need to get your birth certificated translated. None of your documents have to be translated now because the U.S. Embassy in Peru accepts documents in English and Spanish. The first time anybody is going to see your birth certificate it will be at the Embassy. Later on in the process when you get to the United States and do things like AOS, EAD, AP and the other things, you might need too but that is at least six or more months from now. Start educating yourself of the entire things that you need to do for your I-129F package. Start getting all the documents, paper work, pictures, passport photos and all the other stuff you need. Good luck with everything.

The alien's birth certificate isn't required for the K-1 I-129F, but many people recommend you send it, because when it's not sent with the first package, it's sometimes requested later, delaying the process.

If you send it to the USCIS with the initial petition, it must be translated. MrMrsKnight had the right info. Anyone with the required ability is allowed to translate and certify that the translation is correct. You can also find that info here.

If you don't send it to the USCIS, but instead wait until the interview to show it to the consular officer, then the USCIS translation rules don't apply, and instead you're working under the consulate's rules. Most consulates can accept documents in English or in the native language of the country where the consulate is located.

HI I WENT THROUGH THE SAME SITUATION. USCIS ASKED FOR MY FIANCEE'S BIRTH CERT. AND DIVORCE DECREE IN ENGLISH. NOT JUST ANY ONE CAN TRANSALATED IT HAS TO BE SOME ONE SPECIALIZED. I TRIED GOING WITH A NOTARY AND SHE SAID SHE DOES NOT DO THAT ANYMORE BECAUSE USCIS KEPT ON RETURNING THEM FOR ANY WORD THAT WAS NOT CORRECTLY TRANSLATED. YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL WHO YOU CHOOSE. THE REASON IM TELLING YOU THIS IS BECAUSE THE MORE MISTAKES YOU MAKE THE LONGER THE PROCESS.
