After doing some debate prep and satellite interviews at his campaign headquarters for most of the afternoon, McCain headed downstairs to his Virginia Victory offices to rally a group of volunteers who had been making phone calls on his behalf.

He referenced recent poll numbers and the state of the race in Virginia before telling his supporters that this news should only make them want to work harder.

"After I whip his you know what in this debate, we're going to be going out 24/7," McCain said of his upcoming debate with Obama.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

It looks to me that by McCain's own admission his real agenda now is a personal vendetta and has nothing to do with trying to inform potential voters about the strengths of his policies to gain their support through a discussion or debate of the issues. What does he have to offer the country other than 'whupping someone's 'you know what'? Call me naive but I am really interested in finding out from politicians what they can do to govern this country as a united, democratic country. I would like to know the strengths - and weaknesses - of their plans through an honest self-evaluation rather than just hear them tear down someone else's plans. I am not interested in how much they can beat up on each other. That proves nothing and is absolutely worthless as a standard for making an informed decision. Any schoolyard bully can beat someone up but this isn't a 'beat up' competition (although some people seem to feel that is a valid standard to determine the presidency!) - this is supposed to be an informed democratic election to determine who the voters believe is the best person to make healthy decisions of governance for you, me and everyone living here today and in the future. I want someone who doesn't have to resort to threats of aggression, physical violence and childish name-calling - someone who is confident enough in his/her policies that they don't feel the need to throw his/her weight around to prove themselves valid and worthy. When someone focuses on 'whupping someone's whatever' I begin to suspect that there must be nothing worthwhile available on their platform, and they hope that if they mis-direct your focus enough from what they lack you won't find out it until it is too late.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Have they officially listed you as an endangered species yet? Your kind is almost extinct.

You would have hated Pres. Carter. This stuff isn't new.

"The Congressmen could hardly believe their ears. Joining a small group of legislators attending a White House dinner, the President was asked the inevitable question about Ted Kennedy and made an altogether unexpected reply. "Excuse me, what did you say?" asked a startled William Brodhead of Michigan. "I don't think the President wants to repeat what he said," interjected a worried Toby Moffett of Connecticut. "Yes I do," said a cocky Jimmy Carter—and then stated again, loud and clear, "If Kennedy runs, I'll whip his ###."

"After I whip his you know what in this debate, we're going to be going out 24/7," McCain said of his upcoming debate with Obama.

Wait.

McCain wants to whip Obama and then go out with him for the next 7 days?

Weird.
