I sent our file in October 4. That makes two weeks tomorrow. I used a cashiers check, I hope that wasn't a mistake. At least we are not alone in this short delay. I never expected two weeks could feel so long. I am not sure how to see if a cashier's check was cashed. I will post a report when I get the NOA1 and I hope everyone else will too. :help: B)

Hello October Filers...

no NOA1 for us yet... It's been 2 weeks now :(

Our timeline moved up as well so maybe CSC is going faster! So why do not they send the NOA1 to our lawyer :crying:

Hello! Welcome to the waiting room. :)

Could it be possible that your lawyer might have it, but hasn't had the chance to tell you yet? It must be really nerve-wracking to sit wondering like that, though :( If you paid by check, have you looked to see if your check has been cashed? Because you could probably get your reciept number off of that, and then check to see that they sent you your NOA1 online. :)

Either way, I'm hoping it will arrive soon so you can put your mind to rest.

As for me, I finally mailed it today! I received the package from my fiance this afternoon with the final signed papers and new passport photo - put it all together and... mailed it finally (via certified mail). Yeah! All fingers crossed ...
Congratulations on sending your package! Now you get to know the joy of biting your nails until you get your NOA1 and discover that the check has been cashed. :P I hope it goes rather quickly for you. <3

Welcome. :)

I'm not entirely sure how to determine if a cashier's check has cleared, either.. Hmm. Perhaps you could call your bank to see if it's been cashed?

The only doom that's looming is you loving me to death,

So I'll give you a sec to catch your breath.

Sorry, that was supposed to read:

I'm not entirely sure how to determine if a cashier's check has cleared, either.. Hmm. Perhaps you could call your bank to see if it's been cashed?

Since calling USCIS is always difficult to get a real person and it is Saturday, I plan to call the bank when they open today. I didn't want to go this far yet, I shouldn't panic but all I needed was someone to suggest it. I appreciate your suggestion.

If I get an answer that seems generic and not bank specific, I will post it just in case anyone else ever needs to know how.

No I don't think he has it yet because my fiance told him to let us know. But we'll follow up on monday since his assistant comes back from vacation on monday, she could have a better look at their mail. We paid the lawyer and the lawyer paid the uscis so we can't track it with his bank. I guess he is a very patient lawyer and i feel like 2 weeks have been 20 years. Next thursday will be 3 weeks so if we don't have anything, i'll really start worrying!

If we hired a lawyer, do only our lawyer receive the NOA1 or does my fiance receive a copy in the mail as well?

He should choose the one closest to him that does visa processing. You need to choose one and write it down on your form I-129F, item 20, before you submit it.

This page http://www.consular.canada.usembassy.gov/u...ates_canada.asp says Winnipeg is for "emergency services only" so I guess that one is not a valid choice then. They recommend the one in Calgary.

I have not seen anyone on VJ yet that has used Calgary. I keep seeing Vancouver and Montreal, that is why I am wondering if those are the only two that do the Interviews? Was hoping there's be a Canadian on here that would know more than I do about this? Anybody? :help:

Hi there!

I am from Calgary. From what I have read on the Embassy website, only Vancouver and Montreal do K1 and K3 Visa's, so I think you qualify as being from the West and would go to Vancouver.
