ok I can sleep good tonight knowing Im going on vacation tomorrow  anyways regarless of what happens, if it all crashes, at least I know all my friends, neighbors and family will be just like me... we are all poor!

btw, does this mean I too can stop paying my bills and let the government bail me out?

This makes a credit contraction, which would disproportionately impact the poor, much less likely.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Didn't it pass last time in the Senate too? Doesn't matter if the House kills it, which I hope it does -- sadly, I doubt it will a second time.

No Srvt. It can't go to the Senate unless it passes the house. And vice versa.

I told y'all they like sheep.

This answer makes no sense - rather like the chicken and the egg argument.

Don't try to understand. I am just a truck driver and know nothing. Never stops me though.

the best piece of pork in the original bill was public funding for ACORN (search it on the google), a not for profit that has been indicted and convicted on numerous occasions for enrolling illegal aliens, felons, and dead people to vote. in addition, they have enrolled people under multiple identities in multiple districts.

guess which way these dead people usually vote? the party of entitlements feels "entitled" to win, no matter how much fraud they have to commit to make it happen. guess which presidential candidate was a big supporter of ACORN in his "community activist" days? (google obama ACORN).

Vote - the bill is voted on. If passed, it is then sent to the other chamber unless that chamber already has a similar measure under consideration. If either chamber does not pass the bill then it dies. If the House and Senate pass the same bill then it is sent to the President. If the House and Senate pass different bills they are sent to Conference Committee. Most major legislation goes to a Conference Committee.

Er, no, it can pass either one first. There's no order between the two chambers of Congress in which things can pass. So long as it's the same bill, otherwise it goes into conference committee.

Last time it went through the Senate first, passed, the same bill put into the House, it failed. Since both chambers need to pass it, it goes back to square one. If the Senate passes it again, the House will need to as well.

Still doesn't make sense to me. According to the rules, since the House shot it down, it should be dead...

So why are they sending the same damned bill through again?

Politics give me a f#cking headache.

Same reason when, after voters repudiated the local sales tax increase voter initiative, the county just hired a marketing firm to figure out which words to use to make people vote for the same initiative they voted down, a year later.

Same reason when, after the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional, we're STILL going to be voting for gay marriage ####### in November.

People with interests greater than the will or rights of others. God bless America.

This Congress is pretty determined to bail out the people who least need the bailing out. If it were really about the poor or middle class most affected by foreclosures, they'd likely find a way to help adjust their mortgage cost and rate. No, make no mistake, it's about saving the rich people, and taking the eye off Congress, as it was partly their fault too.
