Hey SweetnSexc,

I notice you guys are THE only RFE people who got word back yet regarding the EAD and AP. Did you do anything to speed up matters?

We are writing to our congressman today to see if we can't hurry this stuff up.

Fecking ridiculous. I'm seriously going to go nuts sitting around the house another week and not being able to do anything. The US economy is down the toilet yet people with Master's degrees and 10+ years work experience are sitting at home, feeling good for nothing and more worthless each day ... talk about fiddling while Rome burns.

Sorry again for your frustrations. No, it doesn't make sense at all when educated people with experience sit around willing to work - no sense at all. No wonder you are frustrated!

Anyway, I just wanted to add that I don't think you need to inform them about MIL's new job since that was the circumstance when you filed. I would, however, fill out a new one and take it to my interview just incase it is needed (I wouldn't offer it either, though!) If you send it now, you may be opening up a new RFE can of worms! Maybe I'm wrong, but that's just what I'd do...

My thoughts exactly BTB. A whole new RFE can of worms is not what I need at this stage.

Congressman's office in calling back to collect my info. I hope they can help.

What's frustrating is that the girl at the USCIS told me that RFE's go back into where they were in order - hence, writing the case number etc on the envelope - and that they would be reviewed in that order.

But that's just wrong. Obviously.

This whole entire process is whacky though really. I've been reading some other threads and a couple of the November filers after us have interview dates I believe. By the same token, some of us October filers have EAD's, etc. before people who filed way before us. Seems like that's just the way it is with no rhyme or reason to it. Sometimes I wonder if they just pick a file out of a drawer to work on and you just get lucky if it's yours! Seriously though, I hope the Congressman's office will be able to help you. Good luck!

Actually, I remember reading somewhere an interview with a former adjudicator and he pretty much said that people just pick a pile of files and work on that and I guess all these disparities come from different working speeds of different adjudicators. So, if I get slowpoke Larry and you get Speedy Harry two cubicles over- you get an interview date before me, even though I filed a month before you. First In, First Out my booty. Seeing people who filed at the end of Nov with interview dates really makes me P.O.'ed.

Yes, I had noticed from reading over the October thread in particular that most people who have gotten an RFE have had no updates with regard to their status. I mailed my RFE (tax forms) back in November and there has been no touch since then. It seems to be in stasis at the National Benefits Center, not updated at all since 11/26.

I've had another biometrics (separate one for the EAD, because I mailed it separately from the 485) on 12/19 with a touch on 12/22 for the EAD but nothing on the AOS.

what gives? I am getting worried that mine has been lost along the road. i doubt that an expedite request at 60 days will do any good.

10/27/08 - AOS Package sent USPS Express to Chicago

10/28/08 - Packet received (signed V.Bustamante)

11/07/08 - Checks Cashed

11/10/08 - NOA1 received

11/14/08 - Biometrics appointment received (for 11/28, ugh)

11/20/08 - RFE for 2007 tax return information (even though I sent my entire 2007 filing)

11/22/08 - RFE sent

11/22/08 - EAD request sent (yes, sent separately)

11/26/08 - online "touch", probably from the RFE receipt

11/28/08 - Biometrics completed

12/19/08 - Biometrics#2 completed (for EAD - separate filing)

12/22/08 - EAD "touch"

02/03/09 - EAD approved

02/16/09 - EAD received

02/26/09 - AOS transferred to CSC. no CRIS email, no status update, but USCIS letter received 03/03/09

03/08/09 - AOS "touch"

04/08/09 - RFE for W-2 / 1099 information

04/24/09 - RFE received in CSC.

05/02/09 - Green Card received

Well we are all in the same RFE boat ... and that boat should be called The Titanic ... our files are buried in the bottom of the archive known as the Atlantic Ocean while two Leonardo and Kate look-a-likes at USCIS get the windows of their booths all steamy methinks!!!

Now, where did I leave that Celine Dione album?

It does really suck, and it is unfair!

I see you have had your biometrics appointment exactly one day before me, in the same office in Norridge!

But I have already received EAD and appointment letter, and even though I am obviously happy, I still think is is very unfair.
