you can get her a Memory stick minimum 1 Gigabyte or 2GB the prices have come down quite a bit.

Over $100

Digital Camera with at least 3 Mega pixels, nowadays you can find a good 5MP camera under $200

Or

A Laptop always do the trick, you can get a good one around $500, but A MUST FEATURE

It should have a Wireless Network 801.g. As most campuses nowadays have wireless network on campus.

If the price is good you can still get the laptop then add a wireless card or US wireless Lan Card they cost around 20-30 bucks nowadays!

just to add...

i wouldn't go for the microwave thing unless she is moving to her own apartment. many college dorms don't allow them because of the amount of current they use. they'd trip the breakers every time they made popcorn! instead, some colleges will loan you something like a micro-fridge 2-in-1 (when the micro goes on, the fridge temporarily turns off). my sis had one at her school to ensure that power outtages didn't occur. of course, if she already knows which dorm she'll be in, you can always call ahead to ask about certain appliances.

My sister gave me a huge bath sheet monogramed with my name. This was back in 1991 and I still have the thing. It goes with me to the gym to use at the pool. It has served me well day in and day out after a shower. It's huge and I love love love it!

My eldest step-daughter is very academically talented in the English language (now mastering in English in college) and loves old poetry.

So when she graduated 2 years ago, it seemed only fitting that we searched the antique stores until we came across a 100+ year old book of poetry by Longfellow and presented her with it along with a card that held a few bucks as well. Bonus inside the book itself - when Jenni opened it for the very first time, a very old card that had been used as a bookmark fell out. It was dated 1877.

yeah, I would have to agree out of all the presents I have ever received, the hat goes off to my husband. Every piece of jewelry i have is vintage and I adore them all. So i would recommend getting something that already has history to it, and adding that with everyday she embarks on, she's adding her own history to it. Maybe an old journal that you can add paper to it, so she can write down her hopes and woes?

Maybe a nice book bag with her name etched/written on it? Does she collect anything?

ahh hs graduation makes me sad, I never went to mine=(.
