Hi everyone,

Well, i was just thinking and well wondering about this whole IMBRA thing it seems that it's really more of an approach to mail order bride angencies but yet it effects us all. I wonder if they are taking it in to consideration peoples responses to question 18b. for example for someone who has seen there fiancee on a regular basis e.g. US/Canada relationships what would be the reason for a background check, they both get to see each other regularly and well if you don't know things like criminal record about your Fiance(e) you've got problems. I hope that maybe they will take these situations into consideration due to it will alleviate a back log of stupidity of our governments mistakes. i just wanted to throw it out there...for a different discussion. because we're all stuck...it doesn't matter how much you pester them it falls on depth ears. what we really need is to know people on the inside so then we don't have to wait on phones for 2 hours just call a friend or acquaintance up who works at NSC,VSC,TSC and CSC and find what they are actually doing at work. sitting around not touching paperwork or sorting out the back log?....anyways we're all in this together so better make the most of it.

Thanks for your time everyone,

Yes, I think that´s all we´ll have to do. Nothing else.

On their statement, it was pretty clear they didn´t know how long would it take for this process to finish, but they knew what they were gonna do.

So the question is why it´s taking them so long?

They said they managed to get all cases on the computer, that´s how they recalled the petitions.

And NVC told me my case was set back to USCIS.

I mean, if they will request this, come on.. do it. No one is complaining that we´ll ahve to provide them the criminal records, we just want to get over with it.

Also, if they have recalled the cases, and they know the case numbers, how hard it is to update the status on their website?

rlt,

Perhaps very hard. The USCIS Online Status information consists of a very few, very broad, statements of where in the process a petition is. None of the statements that I've ever seen deal with a petition or case being recalled for reconsideration. Depending on how the software was written and implemented it may be very difficult to re-work it.

Having written that, perhaps they could use the status of a case having been returned by the DoS for reconsideration, if there is such a status? Not quite correct in this instance, but maybe close enough?

And if so, would that tell you anything more than you know already?

You might be right about the software, but who comforted would you be if you checked your status today and read "A request for criminal.... ws sent to the petitioner on May 25th"?

About as comforted as I am each time I look at USCIS.gov and see no status change to my husband's AOS since December 28, 2005.

Thanks for your time everyone,

So just a thought here, but if any of you saw the movie "my date with Drew Barrymore" and of their logic that I must know somebody that knows somebody else that knows somebody.......that knows Drew. Well perhaps we can get inside USCIS. It would be a much better resource than talking to their automated operators for hours on end and then being politely disconnected. <_<
