I couldn't take the roller coaster ride any longer so moved all my 457 money into a stable value account. On days like yesterday I would have lost 8 to 10k and even if the market is back up today I wouldn't have recovered the losses yesterday. Heck, after yesterday's crash the market was actually lower than when Bush took office almost 8 years ago

Not exactly true AJ. The Federal Reserve Banks service over 4,000 US banks and branches.

On an annual basis, the Fed makes nearly 1 trillion per year processing checks, offering cash services, ACH transactions and so forth. All of these funds, minus operating expenses, are turned over to the treasury.

This is real money that is available to loan.
