Obama to Supporters: Argue with your neighbors, Get in their Face

With regards to the point about lowering taxes, John McCain has already said he wants to lower taxes so there seems no point in listening to Obarmy's NEW position on taxes.

Can you elaborate on the "NEW" part of this claim?

Sure..... this is just from the Tax Policy Center...

Obama would raise capital gains taxes to 20%.

Obama would restore 36 and 39.6% statutory income tax rates, Restore PEP and Pease phaseouts for households making more than $250,000, increase in PEP and Pease threshold. He would make permanent estate tax with $3.5 million exemption and 45 percent rate (McCain’s is much better)

Social Security/payroll taxes: impose additional tax of 2-4 percent (combined employer and employee) on workers with income above $200,000 ($250,000 for married couples).

What's NEW about that?

No, this is the older position where taxes would be increased, rather than the new position where apparently this is not the case. You asked me to elaborate on the "new" part of Obarmy's position on taxes and I did this by showing you the documented position. I gather you agree with me on the Second Amendment position as you haven't asked for clarification there?

We get in your faces here on VJ all the time and you get in ours.

This is how it's done. Deal with it instead of whining like a little beeyotch.

EXACTLY !

no palin is the Jehovahs Witness or is that pentecostal?...i get those fringe Christian groups confused...

she's pentecostal.

i assume that is what we called the holy rollers..who speak in tongues?

I

Yep and you can't dance or wear jewelry either.

Another shovelful of generalized ####### from Kaydee - the manure king.

I have no problem here, in a forum....There's no way to "get into someone's face" here in an internet forum.

That's not what "The One" asked his followers to do.

Given his base has many, er, "motivated" zealots I wonder if it's a matter of time before we read about one of his supporters "getting in the face" of someone and either getting killed, or killing someone themselves.

It's plain irresponsible for anyone in his position to use the language he used to mobilize persons unknown given his fringe following. To tell his supporters "to go out and....." is just plain dumb!

There are at least some that'll take him literally in knocking on doors of neighbors (very bad), and some that will actually "get into....", extremely fcuking bad.......

But does it not ever occur to you to read the whole piece before you go off half-cocked with all this talk of irresponsiblity? I mean - could it just be that you're taking it a little too seriously and that given that Obama was actually talking to his supporters in Red State, that it makes sense to try to win round people as many people as possible.

Unless you really think people are literally going to march round to their neighbours house, grab the guy by the shirt and yell "you're going to vote Obama, you ######, or I'll goddamn burn your muthafucking house down".

Doesn't sound plausible to me, I have to say...

I did read the whole piece and Obarmy chose to ask his followers to answer "Obarmy supports the Second Amendment" if faced with the question "i dont know where he stands on guns". Well firstly, I'm not sure that Obarmy has ever been an avid supporter of the Second Amendment, and secondly this point would seem to me to be directed at non-liberals, or those of us who believe in the Second Amendment. We certainly aren't foolish enough to be convinced by some stinky hippy knocking on our door, lying about one of the most anti-gun politicians in history. Has it escaped everyone's notice that Joe Biden authored the 1994 "so called" Assault Weapons ban, which did nothing to reduce crime.

With regards to the point about lowering taxes, John McCain has already said he wants to lower taxes so there seems no point in listening to Obarmy's NEW position on taxes (in addition to his VERY NEW position on guns). All in all, Obarmy keeps adopting McCain's positions so why not vote with the real thing instead of some plastic imposter.

As a final note, I didn't stress enough how much I don't want a stinky hippy banging on my door.

Obama is a politician and like all politicians he's going to try to be all things to all people to ensure he gets their vote. Quite why anyone is surprised or scandalised by this is frankly beyond me.

So, the economy is tanking and Obama has been advised that certain tax plans he promoted earlier might be counter-productive at this time and hurt the economy further. Hence, he takes the advice and says that he'd postpone parts of the tax plan until they can be imlemented w/o doing undue damage to the economy. Now, I know, this must sound weird to the Bushies that a politician actually takes in reality and sound advice from actual experts on matters and adjusts policy accordingly for the good of the country. But this is exactly what I expect from a true leader.

I don't give a first ** about the second amendment. The fewer guns we have out there, the safer I feel. My point of view. I've lived in places where you don't have any yahoo run around with a piece and, surprisingly, gun violence and murder rates were significantly lower in those places. One may or may not have anything to do with the other but I'd be in favor of taking a chance and see.

I am merely outraged by some unwashed hippy hammering on my door trying to explain this verbal shite. Obarmy changing his policies is quite expected.

I loved Kaydee's quote "I am in the Middle". The problem is you are in the middle of whack job & nut! Every time you post you take some ridiculous story & then distort it even further. You wouldn't know the truth if it bit you in the butt.

Oh my!

Doesn't that happen in every election though - you get people coming round your neighbourhood with manifestos and leaflets asking for support?

I guess I'm not reading the terrible scandal into this that the OP seems to.

Obama's support includes many that are, er, on the fringe, far left, and are militants. It's not unreasonable to beleive that these types will be "in your face", literally........and now they have marching orders!

If he loses these fringe elements will be on the streets burning cars and rioting....there's no doubt in my mind about that!

I was listening to a crazy Obarmy supporter from DC who claimed that her community would riot if Obama was not elected because that would be "racist". When the reporter asked why she and her community felt a riot was necessary, she said that white folk would be to blame cause they didn't vote for him. Oh so funny.....

I better start printing up my watchtowers to give when I go out and speak to my neighbors...(wait, I'm in Chicago. No need.)

Kaydee lives somewhere out in the Burbs. DuPage County perhaps?

How does he get around here without his head blowing up every day? Eh, it might not be as prevelent in the burbs (especially anyplace north of Evanston). However, I think my neighborhood has more Obama t-shirts per capita than any other place in the US.

You must live in Hyde Park.

Roger's Park actually. Full of liberal Northwestern/Loyola professors and those "ethnic" people. Every small local shop has a large array of Obama shirts. The ones with the metallic print seem to be the most popular.

Yikes! Well, he is the hometown favorite.

Now on to more pressing matters... what's the name of those two really good Thai restaurants up there that are superyummy???

Hmmm...ones that are actually in the RP? I don't eat out Thai that often (husband isn't a fan) but I go to the The Indie Cafe when I go out for Thai with my friends. It's approx Elmdale and Broadway...just down the street from the Dominick's.

There is another one right up the street from Loyola next to the Ghettoplex but I don't know a whole lot about it.

I heard about some place called Thai Road or something similar. Rogers Park/Edgewater... but I'm pretty sure its in that general area.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

But again - fringe, extreme elements aren't exactly restricted to Obama's side. I mean... who do the white supremacist folks vote for?

Selective outrage, it seems...

Absolutely. Isn't it odd that fringe elements and all... with a nation supposedly overrun with liberals, liberal media, movies, hippies knocking on doors, and all that other jazz... lunatics on the right wing side of the scale still even win elections? And more so, tip toe around the issue of their own lunatic fan base??

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
