Midwest immigration processing office is very slow.

[/b]

Besides the obvious that everyone else has pointed out, this is quite dated, because if the "Midwest" immigration processing office being referred to is Nebraska, that service center has not done I-129F's for quite a few years.

And if it actually worked as advertised, the underlying premise would work virtually worldwide and not just Manilla.

i think they shut down right after we sent ours to them, about spring 06.

My brother has a friend who brought his wife over from Ukraine about seven years ago. I think before 9/11? When we started the process, I explained how we were going to go through the K1 visa & how it was probably going to take about six months. (Times were a bit more regular/predictable back then.) I guess he chatted with his friend about how /they/ had done things...

His friend's advice? OH, it's soooo much easier to come over on a tourist visa, get married, and then adjust status. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking: wow, that's TOTALLY ILLEGAL. (Also, a tourist visa from Ukraine?)

My brother was also reminiscing about how his friend had to (as in -- was required) get affidavits of support from "twenty different people" who knew the couple. (Possibly because of suspected VISA FRAUD? AaahhH!)

The boy & I eat regularly at an Indian restaurant. The head waiter there was sharing his and his wife's story. He's all like..."The ten year greencard just came in the mail! We didn't have to do anything!" and I'm like...not even file the papers, eh?

Below I am reprinting a message that I received from a relative who lives in the Philippines. He says that this is an unpublished method to marry in the Philippines, have the spouse get a tourist visa, and then get back to USA in about 5 weeks, rather than the many months for the K-1 or K-2 visas.

Is there any truth or credibility to this? Has anyone ever heard of this working?

Would really appreciate some input here.

Details American Marriage to Filipinoi girl while you are in Philippines:

Doing a fiancée visa application in the USA is a very long process. You have to provide a lot of personal private info and need pictures together to prove you have met her in person. Analyn has to make 5 visits to USA Embassy for health checks and assorted background checks. Have to be at Embassy main gate at 6am to get in before 9am cutoff entry time. This means she has to stay overnight in close by hotel, which are not cheap in that area. Many filing fees payable as she goes through fiancée visa application processing process. Like close to 10,000P. On your side many filing fees and you need all her family history. Midwest immigration processing office is very slow.

Fastest way to get Analyn to USA as your wife is to get married in Manila. Here is how.

First she gets her Filipino passport. When you get to Manila go to USA embassy next day and ask for "Permission to marry Filipino form" fill it out while in Embassy. You need Analyn's NSO birth certificate paper which gives info about her parent's names and wedding date and location of birth needed to fill out the form. You should get form approved while in Embassy office. There is a filing fee to do this. Once you have legal PI marriage licenses, then you apply online at Manila USA Embassy website for tourist visa for your spouse.

No USA income tax requirements or back ground checks on Analyn necessary.

Getting a Visit Visa from Philippines is really difficult.. But if shes working in the other country like me, they will granted her a Visit Visa.. This is a fact and based from my own experiences..?? But maybe I guess this is just a case to case basis situation. and it depends where country you are in..

I was working in Kuwait when I met my husband, we got married here in the Catholic Church.. At first me and my husband does not know if the US Embassy here can process a Petition for Alien Spouse., so I filed an application for a Visit Visa so we can visit his family... I submitted all the package to the Embassy, our marriage certificate authenticated by Foreign Affairs in Kuwait and the Vatican, did submit wedding pictures as well, his tax license, job information etc.. Then they scheduled me for interview, and passed it.. They issued a Visit Visa for me with 10 years validity... My friend in Qatar did the same thing as well, and the other american co worker did it also here for his wife.. We all granted a Visit Visa (10 yrs)..

But after a month, while researching online in the Embassy website.. I found out that they can process the Petition while in Kuwait, so we have decided to file the petition and the petition got approve and canceled the visit visa.. The petition got approved and not I am finally DONE with the VISA process.... I researched and researched.. till I found the answer.. Sometimes also I am not saying that people in the VJ do advise wrong things but still you need to do your own research and get a second opinion.. I had a lot of experience on people telling me negative things, and it almost put me down, but I did it....

The point is, if you want to marry now, just do it.. and apply for CR1 visa.. this is better than a K3 visa.. This seems longer but it is cheaper and you can apply for SSN at the same time.. Once approved and went to the US, your spouse will receive his 2 years greencard and SSN without AOS and EAD Application...

My advise is, in any process there is no shortcut way.. We all have to go to the process, but we have to do it right..

Visit Visa for 10 years is good only when you are both living overseas.. Meaning you can bring her and she can stay there for 6 months whenever.. But if you are working overseas and she have her greencard, she is obligated to return to the US and meet the physical presence every 10-11 months..

Thanks, you've probably given the best feedback without seeming self-righteous, like some other posts.

I was just posing a question. I had no idea at all if this was true and very hesitant to even consider it.

Personally, I am just finishing putting together the K-1 Visa paperwork and will be mailing it in next week. Then I'll sit back for the wait.

Went to Manila to meet her in person in late June, stayed there for a month. Going back just before Christmas for another 3 weeks. Taking my daughter with me on that trip.

I certainly want to get the paperwork in properly.

Visit some other places in Philippines, Manila is the armpit of the Philippines.

I personally stay as far as away from Manila as I can.

They are about 7000 island to check out.

Check out Camguin Island.

That will be the best idea you have in there.. File a K-1 Visa..

THis is also will allow you to know her better. Work with your paperwork and complete all the necessary documentation..

Remember if you want something to work out, just do it right at the first time..

Goodluck, may your fiance's journey will be smooth like the other people here in VJ..
