Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 14, 2009
Embassy Review : Had the interview April 23, 2009. Arrived about an hour and a half early, they let us in early. Myrewen got called for fingerprints after a half hour wait. Initial prescreening at the window about 20 minutes later. just a few questions confirming the filed paperwork and about my prior marriage and divorce. Then we saw the Consulate about 30 minutes later. We both got to go in for the interview. He asked whether Myrewen had been married before, had any kids, and if she had a positive experience during her medical exam at St. Luke's. He then asked how we met. He asked me what I did for a living, whether I enjoyed my work, and then told me that the foreign service had job openings. He stated that he had no more questions and the visa was approved. Visa was issued April 27, and we got it April 29.
Overall, smooth and quick as could be. A very positive experience. Nothing like we had anticipated.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
