I will be eligible to apply for citizenship on October 27th. Do I need to just submit N-400? How about biometrics? Is it the same form we filed when we applied for our greencard? Also, is it possible to e-file?

Fee is $595 + $80 for biomentrics

Is what the same form as you did for greencard?

I do not believe N-400 is yet a part of the e-file program.

YMMV

Go to the USCIS form website, scroll down, way down to the N-400, read all the instructions including downloading the M-476 manual, 68 pages of very enjoyable reading.

Most immigration attorneys I have talked to want a thousand bucks to fill out the form, the fees, telephone calls, and mailings are extra. Many good people are on this board that can help you with some of the questions, and they will do this for a half a glass of warm beer.

I did all this for my wife and she has been a US citizen now for a week, but she just gave me a peck on the forehead.

I think that if one can't figure out what to do to apply for citizenship after reading the N-400 instructions, that person should forever be barred from ever applying.

All the info you need is right there man. Read the instructions, do what they say.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Ha, I was doing great until I got to this question:

Part 1. Your Name. (The person applying for naturalization.)

Does that mean I am barred forever? LOL
