she is wondering for the line that says TOTAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME

does she include my dad's income?

Do you mean 24.C? That one is for the total of 24A - 24B.

You need to put your dad if you are using his income to meet the guidelines. Is your mom only using her income? BTW, did your mom and dad files joint?

All that to say, we need more info to answer correctly

my mom does make enough on her own, but they did file their taxes jointly.

Then you enter only your Mom's income. You will then need to provide documents to support that figure.

Since she filed a joint return, you will need to provide them with her tax return (or IRS transcript) plus her W2's and any other documents that prove her income (like slips for investment income she might have etc).

If a sponsor filed a joint tax return with a spouse, but is qualifying using only his/her own individual income, the sponsor must submit evidence of that individual income. This evidence would include, for example, the sponsor’s own W-2(s), Wage and Tax Statement, and if necessary to reach the income requirement, evidence of other income reported to IRS which can be attributed to him/her, usually on Forms 1099.
