maybe this is a stupid question  , but where is everyone checking the case status at for "touches"? I am looking at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/caseStatusSearch.do with my case number - all it says is my petition has been received and is pending and they sent NOA on September 5. Is this normal? anyone getting any more information?

Hi Chuck & Grace,

You have to create an account to view your status. 'Touched' means 'Last updated'.

:angry:Thanks, I had done that in the past, but when I was checking USCIS, I was just entering the WAC # instead of logging in - when I had logged in previously, nothing had changed (last updated 9/10/08), so I guess no "touches".

I was looking at my timeline and clicked "Find Similar Timelines" - it showed 3 people from Philippines got from NOA1 to NOA2 average of 23 days - is that possible? I couldnt find who, but that seemed encouraging anyway. I am in Japan now with by fiancee - almost 3 weeks  , but I gotta go back soon. I dont think I can stay much longer unfortunately :crying: , but I will try to be back next month and end of December for New years :D . I know the web-sites are not always up-to-date, so I dont know if I have anything waiting for me when I return or not - that would be great (unless it is an RFE  ).

I wonder how long it will takes for them to assess the petition if it is subject to RFE? Although, we thoroughly prepared the package, I'm still thinking if we've missed some important things.

This waiting around is the hardest part. Luckily my SO lives fairly close and we are planning on meeting up next weekend for a weekend away and then I will go down to Seattle to visit him for Christmas. The toughest part is always coming back home.

I would be very happy with a January NOA2 approval. :)

Anyone one else meeting up with their honey for Christmas this year?

I managed to talk my work into giving me 5 weeks off over the holidays. I will be flying to be with my sweety on the 28th of November. (only 6 weeks to go) and coming back the first week of January. But I am really stressed. I live and work in Korea on a work visa, but because of how the visa process works I will only get my new visa in January, so I will be without a visa to return to Korea when I arrive in November. My work has writen me a very nice letter explaining this. (well, this being Korea and the level of English here - I wrote they letter, and they read it and signed and stamped it.)

I will have my return airplane ticket. A signed and stamped letter from my school explaining everything. And my new work contract. A freind is also getting married in December so I have her wedding invitation as a reason for my travel. Hopefully they will be very kind letting people in for the holidays.

I am hoping to get Married in August (since my family will be able to travel then for the school vacations) so I am also really hoping for a January/February NOA2 ...

I wish I can travel too, and see my bebe ko because December is his busiest month for work and I only have vacation leave during yuletide season. I did make an attempt to get tourist visa last year, but unfortunately they denied me for that kind of visa. Insufficient assurance that I will be back here in the Philippines was their reason. I'm not convinced with their reason because they didn't even bother to see my proof of stability, but who am I to object anyway.

This year, I suggest that he'll just save the money he's gonna spend to visit me again for our church wedding. It's kinda expensive in US. I have the budget to see him this coming holiday season, but I doubt if they will give me tourist visa. I will just keep myself busy while waiting for the approval of our petition. Anyway, I need to settle first my graduate studies, on how I can transfer in US as well as I need to prepare everything in work before I leave.

It's tough to keep reminding ourselves that really the 6-8 months that we have to wait to get our Visa processed, really isn't that long in the big picture. We just have to hang in there and make the best of our time while we are waiting. We CAN do it! :)

Chris keeps reminding me that as much as it is nice to see one another, we should be saving the money we use for the trips for when I move down there and all my moving expenses and for our wedding, which is probably the smart thing to do.

I suppose now is the time to enjoy our last few months being at home in our own country, as it will probably be awhile before any of us gets to come back home to visit. Each day that goes by brings us closer to the day when we get to be with our sweeties.
