A fairly "meh" week for everyone, with only PP posting a score of any note (22). Most importantly though, I scored more than Pooky at the top, and stretch my lead that little bit further. Suddenly, it's looking like the Pookster may not even hold on to 2nd spot, with Nicky making inroads there, and it's now looking like any one of 3 for the wooden spoon!

I have a friend whose a saints fan. I think it wrong the FA taking the points off the team. Its not the fans fault or the players fault its the owners. Anyways I think the FA are a bunch of old farts and are usless.

Yep, but rules is rules. And Football League rules state that if a team goes into administration, then they're docked points. Them's the breaks. Tbf, we were ###### anyway interms of relegation; it's literally about the club's very survival now.

But deducting the points this season if you manage to stave off relegation, or next if you go down anyway is rather like the FA making sure SFC get hurt. It should really be one or the other and be based solely on when the "rule" was broken.

Look at it this way, if a team goes into admin in October, would the FA say "if you don't get relegated this season, we'll fine you 10 points, but if you do, we'll clobber you next season." Of course not. They'd take the 10 points right there and then. Just because you've hit the wall late in the season, when you're already in trouble, should have no bearing on when they take the points.

Well, that's that, irrespective of any points deduction and/or relevant appeal: Southampton Football Club will be playing in the 3rd tier of English football for the first time in 60 years next season (if we're still in existence, that is).
