do they ask proof of beneficiary's income or just sponsor's (petitioner) income is enough?

I am asking in ref. to K1 fiance(e) visa and not marriage related visa

I was not working at the time that my petitioner submitted an application for me..so I guess my (beneficiary) income is not needed

No, only the petitioner's income is needed.
