Hi everyone,

I have heard there are grants for immigrants to start small businesses. Anyone have information about this?

You don't get a grant. They just make it easier for foreigners to get a visa if they are going to open a business that is going to employ 20 or more Americans.

Show me the source of your information please.

i remember looking at the entreprenurs visa way back when we decided we wanted to be together, but had not yet got engaged. it did state you need in excess of $200,000 some quoted less and some said you needed $1000,000 and the business should employ about 10 or 20 natives (can't remember the exact number.) but i dont remember it saying it being easier for someone on that visa and i believe that one is one of the visas thats capped.

Yes, there is an investor visa. You need to be able to invest $1,000,000 ($500,000 in areas with high unemployment) and be able to create 20 jobs to qualify for it. The visa class is EB-5.
