High School Diploma?

What is considered a highschool diploma? My husband is from Denmark and we are not sure what he needs. He didn't go to a secondary school. So we are really confused about what he needs to do to go to college here.

Try phoning or visiting the International Admissions representatives at your area colleges for the information that you want. As a bonus, you could also gain an impression of the school itself, on the basis of how you're treated when you inquire. (Depending on when the Fall academic term starts, the representatives may be tied up helping the already-enrolled international students who are appearing on campus.)

If your college of interest is small or a private institution, you could end up speaking directly with an admissions officer who has the authority to grant or process waivers, if your husband's case is unique or unusual.

My wife wanted to attend a community college. She is from china. They wanted a transcript from her highschool that was translated. She called her highschool and they had none. This is the letter from admissions dealing with this.

I will accept a High School diploma translation completed at xxx. All college transcripts will have to go through WES, as we discussed.

Your wife will need to bring the following documents to the xxxxx campus for me to look at:

1. Original Diploma

2. xxxx translation

3. Letter from your wife indicating she is not able to receive HS transcripts from China

4. xxx Application

She could have taken a GED test. She did take a few test at the college on math and english. She claims her english is not good..........98% scored on her reading and 82% on her writing and she took advanced math in college in china. She was told she did better than most american students. We will try for student aid. Between books and course fees for 6 credit hours is over $1000. She is a resident here over 1 year. YIKES.

Call the school that he wants to attend. Sometimes they just ask the prospective student to take a test in order to be accepted, where others require at least a GED. There are a lot of adult classes on-line where he can get a HS diploma from the U.S.

It's not at all impossible for him to go to college here, just ask around and see what you're options are, then you can make a decision.
