Interview Wait Time

Dear VJ's

Our case was complete on April 28 2008,

To date the interview has not been scheduled and the NVC just told us they are finished scheduling for the month of September

The consulate is Georgetown, Guyana.

I was wondering if anyone has a idea of what the usual time frame in Guyana is between case completion and interview date or what wait time should i expect.

Maybe they are busy, try writing an email to the Embassy in Guyana.

Oh wow. I didn't think it took so long to schedule interview in Guyana. Now i am terrified. I am sorrry i do not know but when my sister filed for her husband, it did not take long for him to get an interview. In fact it took less than a two months after the packet was recieved.

This is a long wait with no word on when it will end. I hope someone else from Guyana can speak to this--have you posted in the regional thread?

I get quicker responses going through one of my Congressmen. Using a Congressmen would usually take a 3-5 days to get a reply. I had emailed the consulate a few times and it was always a couple weeks before I would get a reply.

Calling the consulate might be better than emailing.

Thanks for the feedback and support. I emailed the Guyana Embassy, they cannot do anything until the case is sent to them, a catch 22. Trying to speak to other Guyanaese to see what the usual wait is but this seems to be quite long compared to previous cases.

Will wait one more month and then try the congressman

why wait the month to contact your Congressional rep? I would do that immediately so that they are aware of what is going on...

sorry to hear that. its been a while now. did u talk to the usem ? and ask why it takes so long to schedule ur interview date? so if ur case been approved on april 2008 and it didnt fit it in sept interview date so it mean ur waiting for almost 6 months now. what did they tell u? goodluck

Wow... That's not normal, Call the embassy and your congressman, you have to ask if they have a free spot for interviews and then the embassy can request your case!
