We're just getting the wind and the rain here. T.O_2_Fl is in the hardest hit area and has flooding and really frazzled nerves right now.... but she's fine.

Orlando, FL just very strong winds last night downed some trees and powerlines and some areas in Orlando became a bit flooded, but no one was injured or hurt except this one guy on the beach that was doing the kite surfing thing and a big wind blew all of a sudden and threw him accros the highway and killed him. sucks!.. but its a scary thing to watch on the news video. This poor guy getting tossed like a rag doll by fays wind gust. Its unbelieveable. Its not like its a parachuting accident from thousands of miles up in the air. Its more like a man being pitched against a wall like a human baseball. Not so squemish at all.

The news I read said he is in critical condition and survived. Is there somewhere that said he actually died? I saw the video, I don't know why they keep playing it over and over. It's disrespectful to the guy IMO.

If it sounded as IF Im being disrespectful to that guy, I actually posted this here to show people that STORMS ARE NO JOKE AT ALL. A lot of people dont have respect for these natural happenings until they are hit with DISASTER. and thats what happened to this poor guy. They were there SHOWING OFF THEIR GAMES IN PUBLIC, NO ONE KNEW WHAT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN UNTIL IT DID...and that guy is not yet dead, someone here in my office sent me the link and said the guy was dead, where in he is actually in critical condition so lets pray for this poor soul that he may have a speedy recovery.

I'm in Haines City, in Polk County.

It's been raining heavily here for 2 days now, and it's quite windy...but being from England that hasn't bothered me too much. I even went for a walk to the store in the rain today. I suppose that gives you an indication nof how bad it isn't here.

I am sure some areas have been hit worse, but around here I think flooding is more of an issue, and i'm glad I live on a second floor apartment.

Filirican I meant no insult towards you personally.

Obviously what the guy was doing was stupid. I could understand them playing it over and over if he had just broken a toe or something. But since he is in critical condition, I think it's not right to make him or his family feel extra stupid having to see it over and over. If I made a stupid mistake I wouldn't mind if they talked about it to caution people but to show my possible demise on the news over and over is disrespectful in my opinion. He may die, who knows and I don't think they should exploit his misfortune, as Krikit explained. If he had died it would have been even more horrifying to watch in my opinion, knowing he lived was a relief but the clip makes you cringe and goes beyond learning a lesson. Anyway we won't all agree.
