Well, my husband had his interview last Wednesday in West Palm Beach. We actually got there an hour early (we didn't want to get stuck in traffic or looking for parking). They let us in to the waiting room, which was pretty empty when we got there, but by the time we left, was totally packed. We could see an oath ceremony going on in the other room.

His appointment was at 12:30, and he was called in at 12:40 (I stayed in the waiting room). The whole interview lasted 15 minutes and was very straightforward.

The interviewer asked him if we were still married, if we were happy and if we were planning on having kids. She didn't even ask for my proof of citizenship. Then she looked at his green card and passport.

She commented on the amount of paperwork we brought and how organized it was (I included EVERYTHING, plus photocopies). We had a huge expandable folder and tote bag full of stuff (but she didn't want to see any of the proof of marriage and residence). My husband told her about the additional trip he took since submitting the application, and she verified the dates in his passport.

He had also had 2 traffic tickets that we didn't know to include in the application. I was worried about them, so we took the proof of payment and copies of his driving record. He asked the interviewer about it, but she said she didn't care about the tickets.

Then she asked him the civics questions (which he answered before she could even finish asking!): who is the current president, who is president if the president and vice president die, what are the colors of the flag, who is Martin Luther King Jr. and something else. Then he had to write "I am too smart for this."

He got the paper saying he passed the interview, and was told to expect the Oath Letter in 2 weeks to one month and that it should be scheduled before October. Our fingers are crossed, because we have to leave town for a wedding in early October.....

All in all things went really smoothly. I was a lot more nervous than he was.
