My girlfriend from Canada came to visit me this week, and now that she's here, I don't want her to leave. If I propose to her and we get married, can we then do all the paperwork we need to do from here without her having to go back to Canada?

NO... you must go throught the process, if she stays longer than she is supposed too, then the U.S. can keep her from ever coming back. you are lucky she is so close to you, you both can visit eachother easily...

Could you? Yes, you could - and a lot of people have adjusted status in similar cases. But the onus would be on you guys to prove to the immigration officials that she didn't cross the border with intent to get married. She can also go back to Canada and visit during the process, proving ties to Canada each time she tries to cross, and knowing it is not guaranteed that she will be allowed to enter each time.

Yes, you can do it and it would not be illegal since she did not plan that when she entered US, but nobody will advise you to do it this quick. Getting married soon after entering is not goot for AOS process, you might have problems.

Lots of people on here have done it..... if you do some searches you'll find their posts. Just remember that she cannot go back to Canada until she adjusts status because they won't let her back in. If she does go back you will need to file for a spousal visa.

How far exactly are you from each other. My advice is if your close from one other visit each other and go for the K1 route. You can marry her and she AOS but be prepared for a lot of questions if you go down this route.

The issue is not with getting married. There is nothing illegal or wrong with people traveling to the US and getting married.

The issue has to do with coming into the US on a non-immigrant visa with the intent to immigrate.

Please do not confuse the two.

yes you can do it as long as she did not attend to marry you when she crossed the bored! as the above people sated ! ! you can choose to do it this way ( which is kind of risky to prove the intention of the immigrant! was not to marry when she came through POE)

as you are so close to each other it would be easy for you two, to visit each other. so i would suggest to go for the K1 fiance visa option! this is the easiest and quickest way !
