Hello everyone,

my name is Isabel. I am 19 years old and live in Germany.

I met my Boyfriend Sammy online, thank god to myspace. And we just found out and know we are meant for each other.

So he asked me to marry him ( yay ).

Well he lives in the states his whole life already , had a green card but no citizenship.

Now he got his so he is officially US.

Of course we want to be together every day, so we wanna get married soon so we can be together.

So we thought of two ways, either the K1 Visa or the Visa for Relative, when we would be already married.I guess thats the K3?

My question is besides the fees where the Relative Visa is cheaper lol...

which one is easier to do and doesnt take so long ?

What problems could I have applying ?

We would get married in the States, in New York in Fact.

Is that even possible, that I go there, we get married and then I travel back :)? Once more and he is handing in the Visa thing for Relatives?

Where in NY is the Department where he needs to hand in the papers?

AND ESPECIALLY: What about me travelling to visit him while the Visa application ???

Really need your help guys,

Thank you

Isabel

Look at the guides section... each visa type has its advantages and disadvantages... see what is most important to you...

K-1 is probably considered the fastest because you can begin the petition process today versus waiting until after a marriage has occured.

Visiting is possible but entry is never guaranteed

Petitions are filed at one of two USCIS service centers dependant on the state of residence... If you and your USC fiance read the instructions to the forms (I-130 and/or I-129F) as well as the guides section you will have many questions answered....

YMMV

I am too stupid, I dont understand it lol... Because isnt the DCF the I130?

The I-130 petition determines eligibility to apply for an immigrant visa that results in a greencard upon arrival in the USA....

DCF is a filing method.... This however requires the USC to be resident in the foreign country for 6 mos. (though Germany may be different)

It means that when I have the DCF I already can enter the states and be there ?? What is a filling method ?

And HE has to be US resident for 6 months ?

Sorry for acting so stupid but Its just a totally in love girl lol

No you reallu need to read the guides and get yourself educated....

Normally the petition is filed at one of the USCIS service centers located in the states.... under certain circumstances the foreign consulate will accept the petition filed directly with then... DCF = Direct Consulate Filed (I-130 petition)

YMMV

DCF is also an option, if you get married first. To find out what services the USCIS office at the Consulate in Frankfurt has, and how to submit an I-130 there, click on the following link:
