Some of the most racist people you will ever find are African American. Sad but true. Whites do not hold a candle to their racism. :star:

I am not sure about this one , here are a few of main crime humanity has been subjected :

Polgrom - russians

Apartheid - brit and dutch

6 millions dead in concentration camp - hitler germany

Yugoslavia ethnic cleansing - Slavics

Rwanda genocide - rwandans

WWI and WWII in fact were tribal wars where the rest of the world was invited to join in

My point is : we can all point fingers at each others or instead each of us look within ourselves.

The point in this thread is not who is the worst or best racist ever , as far as I understand the issue is why Obama can not once for all overcome McCain (member of a political party which disastrously ran the country for the last 8 years) .

My personal opinion is :all down to colour of their skins - on one side we have an highly educated/amercian success story and dynamic young contender and on the other side we have someone who thought in Vietnam (that 's the only credential I can find in favour of McCain).

While I can't claim much knowledge about others, what I have put in "bold" I do know a lot about. What Hitler did to the Jews and other "undesirables" had very little to do with "color." It was about religion, money, power and perceived genetics.

The Nazis viewed the Jews as the "perfect scapegoat" for what occurred to them in the aftermath of World War I. The Treaty of Versailles decimated Germany far more than the war had, destroying their economy (the deutschmark had been so reduced in value, it took literally a wheelbarrow full to buy a loaf of bread and even then, the wheelbarrow was considered to be worth more than the cash) and their military.

The reason the Jews were a prime target for blame was due to the fact that, aside from Jews getting blamed for issues beyond their control for centuries (such as the Bubonic Plague or even Jack The Ripper), many of the Jews in Germany were at least somewhat wealthy, of high status, and quite a few were officers in the Kaiser's military during WWI.

So when Hitler made his bid for power, he was and his men were wise enough to realize that Germans didn't want to be reminded of their faults and obvious economic problems; what they wanted was a solution and ultimately, a way to unite Germany together. Telling Germans that Jews were the ones at fault rallied the "average German man and women" to Hitler's cause, making them think: "If it weren't for those damned Jews, we probably would've won that war and our country would be thriving right now!"

Little by little, Germany reduced the rights of Jews, until pretty much anything of any value was barred from them and they were being pushed into cattle cars, heading for concentration camps. This suited the Nazis just fine, since then they could acquire everything the Jews owned and some loved it because it meant unrestrained human testing.

It's been debated whether or not most Germans knew about the concentration camps. Some say they did and others say they didn't. I don't know and don't care. The point is that the Nazis viewed the Jews as sub-human animals (in schools they taught that Jews were inhuman) and how to hate them properly, so the process began very early (as demonstrated by the Hitler Youth).

So was this a product of "color?" No, it wasn't. European Jews (or rather, Ashkenazic Jews) are "white" in appearance, as were the others sent to camps as well, such as gypsies and homosexuals.

If I were black I sure as hell wouldn't be voting for a Republican either. That and Democrats at least make it seem like they give a damn about them. Also, what is the ratio of black Democrats vs. black Republicans in Congress? You might see a trend other than boo-hoo'ing about blacks not voting Republican.

It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

If I were black, I'd want to know who "elected" the so-called "Black Leaders" of the African American community. How do men who wear $3000 suits, eat at the fanciest restaurants and get shuttled around in limos speak for American's downtrodden blacks? What would they even know or understand about them?

Simply because they're black doesn't mean they share a hive-mind. Do I know what every other Jew thinks and feels? Of course not! So why should these "Black Leaders" have any clue what other African Americans think and feel?

Honestly, guys like Sharpton and Jackson are hurting blacks in this country far more than helping them. How is that? Because if African Americans were to ever feel that equality was reached, those two (among others) would be out of a job. So it's in their best interest to keep the status quo. Now if that doesn't sound like Republican thinking (at least according to Democrats), I don't know what does.

I agree it was not down to colour but as far as I am aware Nazis Germany had a racist policy because Jews were and in some instances are considered as ethnically distinct.

Question : are sepharadis jews considered as Europeans or caucasians ?

Posted

Are we saying now that the Nazi's were eliminating jews simply because they were rich these days?

Are we saying that all jews were rich?

Let's just say that yes, it was a scape goat, but the reason behind the jews being 'picked on' was along racial lines not simply because they were percieved as rich. The jews were singled out for abuse across europe, not simply in the then Germany which at least somewhat explains how there was so little outrage at the treatment of the jews for the first few years of nazi rule. The people of Europe and beyond might not have known that the jews were being exterminated, but they did know that they were being stripped of all their rights and privelages in the german territories.

So, I am not quite sure how the treatment of jews suddenly changes character to being about class envy and not racially motivated.

As for the 'whitey need not apply' stuff, well, we aren't going to get a sensible discussion about the good/bad aspects of giving minority groups access to a level playing field in the work place so we just get the usual 'white guilt' 'white's are now targeted' blather.

I'm not buying it. Flip the colors around, I still wouldn't vote for Obama. I don't vote for people based on how much they look like me. Do you?

According to the polls many of those not wanting to vote for the Democrat are doing so based on Race. Sickening, yes. Surprising, not really.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Sickening? Well, it's the difference between voting specifically to deny a racial minority president and for the first racial minority president.

It is sickening that the latter is in any way necessary. It's also sickening that some people have the mentality that to deny a racial minority access to the greatest percieved power in the US is their primary duty.

I'll let you decide which is more/less sickening.

I think where some confusion might lie is that anyone who is caucasion who doesn't vote for Barack is doing so for those reasons. I don't think anyone really believes that, do they?

I guess it goes back to those inflammatory Geraldine Ferraro comments from earlier in the year. Noone denies that things like race and gender influence voting decisions - but when you make a claim that a person's sole claim to success is solely due to those factors - it becomes a rather difficult claim to justify.
