As I always say, you want to know what a gal is gonna look like in 30 years - take a look at her mama - she won't be too far off.

 Too right, too right.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

My mother is still slim and her hair is only just starting to turn a little white (not even grey - straight from brown to a beautiful white). I really hope it's true! :D

Cr@p. Now I feel like a bad wife. I do the high heel bit; but don't clean nada. Shame on me... I am vesting disgrace on my people.... now pass the coffee, will you?

same here ..lol but somehow my hubby still loves me... maybe it's that whole, "he loves me for who I am on the inside" thing  not the "he loves me for what I do and for what country I am from" thing...

I have sunken bathtubs in my house. I clean them in my nighty. My husband stands right behind me when I do. Let's just say my husband hasn't complained yet.

Consider yourself fortunate, and ask what her secret is...also, pray to God you got her genes and not your daddy's - if he had any unfortunate attributes.

Do men grow up to be their fathers?

Cuz that would mean I am going to spontaneously, without any effort whatsoever, lose a whole lot of weight! That would be nice. I could cancel my gym membership.

Yes - normally true...if your father has any male pattern balding you'll get it, too; beer gut; ED; you name it...dear old dad is probably passing it on to you as we speak. Now, if you've let yourself go by eating a whole hell of lot of American food while he's eating well back home...hmmmm...is that genetics or is that the seefood diet???

Actually, in my family, yes!

Staashi - I imagine having to run round six children probably helps with staying slim! ;)

Actually what has been stated is that a man takes after his mother's father. So AJ, is that thought as enticing?

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

It used to be thought as that, but now scientists believe that both parents contribute to their offspring's likelihood of hair loss.

Does the fact that no one takes you seriously make you smile? Because after this post, I had a good chuckle my friend. I have never heard of any of my american friends getting jealous because of looking at the newspaper. Again, you were obviously on the look out for the crazies. Just like my sibling always dates women who have emotional problems, you always date women who have issues. The difference is, he does not categorize the women he dates by ethnicity or nationality.

I will admit that some of the things I posted were not all that serious. However the story of Vickie and getting jealous over the newspapers was fact. The most memorable of her jealous antic's was when I took her on a trip to England and France. They made the preflight announcements and said the inflight movie would be a James Bond movie. I thought to myself that I wished it was a different movie because the James Bond movies all have beautiful women in them. When the movie came on she turned to me and said "You planned this trip because you wanted to see this movie. She reached over and clawed my face and I was sitting there in a coat and tie with blood pouring all over me.

Also serious, one of the last LTR with an American woman I had to get a restraining order on her after she broke in and I woke up at 4 am with her standing spread eagle over me holding a knive. When we had the hearing for the PFA it took 8 cops to restrain her. Even then I had to hide out for a year and a half, renting an apartment in a back alley and watching to make sure no one ever followed me there. Same gal also bragged she had killed a man and gotten away with it.

To be honest, yes, I did meet some nice American women and they are not all bad.

My mom is the one who is Ukrainian and Czech...she has the Czech nose(well that is what she says, and she does not like her nose at all. I think she is lovely though.). She is a lot shorter than me and I always have been told I took a lot like my father. I don't think it's the case for every woman that they will look like their mother in 30 years. Anyway, does it really matter if one of your parents have unfortunate attributes? I mean does that mean someone won't marry you? :POh, better check out her mom first...

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

That makes sense for reasons I won't go into... and it's kind of scary. I'd much rather have gone after my father.

You have a sportin chance AJ, I find lots of things that I heard when I was younger was a crock of bull. None of my 4 kids have my coloring (skin, eyes, or hair) even though I was suppose to be the dominant gene.
