We are making our move to Florida late Sept, we have looked at a few places in Florida and now we are drawn to the Orlando area, I would be happy to hear from anyone who lives in or around here who can give me an insight to areas to avoid buying/renting...what are the schools like?

Or if you live in another part of Florida and love it....tell me about that too

Thanks in advance!

Couple nice areas would be Winter Park, MetroWest area in Orlando, some parts of Winter Garden, area surrounding Millenia Blvd in Orlando, Sanford. I wouldn't want to live in Pine Hills. At all costs avoid Lake Buena Vista - that is Disney and bunch of tourists who can't drive!!!! Casellberry is extremely far from everything. Also places really close to Florida Mall are not a good place to live and raise kids. Downtown is constantly under cosntruction, but they have good High School.

I personally love living in Orlando. I spent almost 4 years there and its never boring. Being a high touristy place, there are always jobs available in hospitality. Also, vast opportunities for family-friendly things to do.

Move to Spring Hill. FL...and buy my house! (it's not on the market but we can sell it to you!!)

Well really, it's too far from the Orlando area I guess. We are about 1 1/2 to 2 hours directly west, on the west coast. My area is newer, with new shopping centers and nice stores newly opened and being built. It's pretty nice but I just want to move somewhere else. An hour north of Tampa, 1 1/2 hours north of Clearwater beach/St pete area, 2 hours west of Orlando...have I sold you on it? :innocent:
