I received my Oath letter today for 01/29/09 at 8 am at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Happy New Year to everyone!

Aicha received hers for the 29th as well, but for some courthouse in LA.

Woo hoo! It's almost over!

Congratulations! The courthouse will be the Los Angeles Convention Center. There's no other venue for the oath ceremony for January 29, 2009. Cheers!

D'oh, you're right. It says "US District Court Central", but then at the bottom it was LA Convention Center.

Thanks, Lyuba. We love our kids too but we're done. Definitely not going for the Duggar record! ;)

Hey guys,

Thank you so much!!!! I am a US citizen now. Nice feeling.

The ceremony went well. Both my husband and my mom who is visiting from Russia attended. The funny thing that at the ceremony my documents were processed by the same guy who conducted my interview. This difficult dude who wanted to see my hubby.

Well, he recognized us both immediately. He even nodded approvingly when he saw that my hubby showed up with a big bunch of flowers for me.

So glad to be done! I already registered to vote, I will run to SS office today and apply for the passport on Saturday.

Now on to getting ready for my son's first birthday party next week.

Glad to hear that you finally became US citizen.

Probably your mom will try to spoil your little baby already.

That's their job to do that. Since he is their grandkid, not son.

Enjoy your time with family.

Why? Because he is not her direct responsibility.

Only parents will stick to strict discipline.

Don' trust much for grandparents, uncles, and aunts.

Especially younger uncles...

Those are nasty one, who try to spoil their nephews and nieces.

I know it because I'm the one. :innocent:

They can give sugar or sweet, then parents will be suffered with hyper mode of kids since the parents will stay night and sleep closed to those kids.

I think NickD complained about it in the past.

If I remember correctly, St. Paul district office have Oath Ceremony schedule frequency something like once in every quarter or something like that.

I might be wrong, but they schedule big, big oath ceremony in stadium or something like that, and last time it was delayed further because RNC presidential party held there.

So far, I think St. Paul have some worst coorperation between USCIS and Federal Court regarding oath ceremony schedule.

I agree moon, they are really really slow. Must be all the cold and snow here. Maybe they like being indoors all the time :jest:

Waiting for snow melting season?

Then you have to wait for at least 4~5 months.

We are living in freaking tundra's world.

WI is a little better than MN, but still I have to shovel the snow.

I think USCIS St. Paul district office should have oath ceremony from the cave in underworld of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

I saw that from PBS documentary long time ago, and it was impressive.

The ceremony went well. Both my husband and my mom who is visiting from Russia attended.

Hmmm. The paperwork Aicha got says only she can attend the ceremony. Did they get to stand near you or was there a separate waiting or observation area for them?
