Especially Vermont Service center didn't assign their resources properly and we can see the delays with the family based petitions. That's what Ombudsman report says too:

You're not alone, I get mad too.

I am trying to do everything the legal way and I have not moved an inch forward. It is largely because of these illegals why MY case looks so suspicious and will raise red flags to anyone.

It sickens me to know that sometimes the right way isn't the RIGHT way.

Not to be rude, but that is not why you have problems with your case.

You have a problem with the legality itself of your marriage under Armenian law, and any red flag will be based on that as well, no?

Totally frustrating for you, I understand, but illegals in the US can hardly be blamed for that.

well, if there were no illegals, then everyone can get approved really fast... they may not be the main source of the problem, but it is a big factor to consider... another one would be the bad management of USCIS.. then you have the US making a few enemies in the Mideast Countries.. :crying: they put their nose in other people's business, and they get a terrorist attack.. then they tighten everything up.. hmmmm..

yeah, that's true.. but they are one of the reasons why the government is moving so slowly (another reason is because their own system doesn't work); So having a system that doesn't work and people you can't trust (security checks on cases and administrative processing done; local office interviews) makes the people who apply suffer a great deal more..

Although I am here and a greencard holder and although our journey was quick I totally agree with the illegal person theme that you have going on here I come from the UK and we have a big problem with Illegals too, yeah some of them go to UK or USA for real honest to god issues like war/persecution/displacement but a vast majority are economic illegals and they seem to swamp the hospitals/schools and welfare systems so it makes it harder for those seeking a way in through legal and right terms, it also make the citizens of the host country madder than hell and have a real hatred of the immegrants when they are placed on waiting lists for surgery or cant get their kids into the school of their choice. What we need to remember though is that many of those from wherever they are from really do need the help of the host county and to paint all illegals with same brush is really wrong.

Whatever you want to think of illegal entrants and their children aside......

Bottom line is these people aren't affecting your visa process. They aren't in the system and they aren't clogging the pipeline.

These people only 'clog' the system if they apply for asylum or refugee status. Otherwise they are the concern of ICE, not USCIS.

The reason your visas take so long is because of historic abuse of a familial connection to a USC to gain immigration benefits. You blame illegals for walking across the border, but the next best thing to that is being related to a USC. There is no limit to the number of spouses and children the United States will admit. It's a greencard you can get merely by being married. It's the best 'legal' way to abuse the system if you happen to not live in Mexico in Canada.

Don't get overzealous patting yourselves on the back for doing things the 'legal' way. There's loads plenty abuse of this method. If there weren't, the consulates would be pumping out visas faster than McDonald's makes cheeseburgers.

rebeccajo,

Many people in my country could not understand why even professionals who have steady jobs, have traveled to many other countries for fun got turned away for US visitor visa, especially when we need no visa for many commonwealth countries. However, having stayed in US for a while, I could understand the assumption of immigration intent unless proven otherwise that the consulates adopt. I could also understand the reason to scrutinize every IV petition and application to weed out frauds.

But, keeping the files for months at god knows where before processing them hardly do anything to curb abuse of the system. IMO, much of the delays are a direct result of an inefficient system, an organization that needs a major revamp and a workforce that needs some whips.

My bet is every developed country is dealing with illegal immigrants and frauds. However, I am yet to see one that has the same magnitude of delays for spouses and family. If Australia (a country also deals with the same abuse and fraud issues) can pump out a visa for couples to unite in 2-3 weeks(in my country), maybe USCIS should send a troop to study and learn how they do that!

It's true the system is inefficient. Paper files move about physically, creating storage and movement problems. Since the World Trade Center Tragedy, the background of each petitioner is checked, slowing things down further. The sheer number of petitions for all visa categories continues to surge, lending a 'one step forward, two steps backwards' effect to almost any improvement in processing that the Service does manage to make.

You might want to compare the number of petitions processed by Australia before you make comparisons of the two systems. I haven't the time to do it myself this morning so I might be wrong, but you may find the numbers are not equal. Typically the number of foreign born individuals applying to enter the US far exceeds the number entering other nations. And I would daresay immigration law in Australia is probably far less complicated than here - our laws are tangled and messy.

I don't disagree with your general assessment at all. My only intention was to point out that merely because a person chooses a legal path to the US, it doesn't make them any 'better' than an illegal entrant by that fact alone. Unfortunately, the fraud numbers attest to that fact.

They broke the immigration laws of the USA and they should pay the price not be given a free ride, maybe we can ship them to Canada and let them be their burden in that socialized society. Wonder how long that would last or how many Canadians would like paying for their free ride.

but why are they afraid if they can't find a job after college? Is it because they are afraid of their "skills" or "legal status"? If they were here legally, they wouldn't have to worry about finding a job.. with most people, the education (and work experience) you receive can land you a good job.. even the lowest paying jobs (McDonald's?) can work part-time and go to school part-time and not worry about the "legal" status.. They brought it upon themselves (or their parents caused it by coming here illegally) the "fear" of having no job and being caught.. yes, the children's meanings are good (wanting a good education).. but does it mean just because they are here, they want all the 'good' things that legal immigrants get? I just don't like the fact that they are complaining (this isn't the first article by far)..

My Wife doesn't even complain as much.. she is just sad and she has a right to be... because we are apart..

you can find a lot more of these on www.idexer.com

So these children are lucky? They complain too much and the fear they have is some silly fear? You are not on the same level at all with what these children are dealing with yet you compare yourself to them?

Do you have any idea what its like to be a teenager trying to make a way in life, but as a result of a civil offence and choice made by their parents they have to suffer the consequences? I am asking, because I have not experienced anything like this myself, and cannot imagine dealing with somethign like this as a child.

Right, what liberal garbage is this, bottom line is these people are affecting all of us and our tax dollars and our infrastructure and our immigration process and they only make it harder on all of us that do things legally. That is the most out of touch comment I believe I ever heard. You are in the minority by the way on that way of thinking. :star:

well, the "illegal" children always have a decision to go back to their home country.

a child, who possibly knows/remembers nothing of their home country can make this kind of decision? I think your long delay has clouded your rationale.

GOGO at first I felt sorry for you but now I know why your case is pending and why you will not be happy EVER! because instead of worrying and praying with your heart you are being and IDIOT hating and becoming full of jealousness! I don't wish you bad but you got what you deserve!
