I'm going through it right now. My AOS is pending, and they did my biometrics a couple of weeks ago. Today I received an RFE for I-864 :(

I'll let you know how it goes after the USCIS makes their final decision!

I was in the US on a J-1 visa back in 2002-2004, but I returned to my country and satisfied the 2 year home residency requirement. I included in my AOS application proof that I resided in Romania for 2 years. So far there have been no requests for further evidence regarding that.

Hey everyone! I came here on a j-1 visa which expired july 25 2008. My visa was subject to the 2 year home residency req. but I got a waiver through a no objection letter from my home country. I got married on May 2008 and send in all my documents for the adjustment of status on July 26. My check has not been cashed yet and I have no news yet... So did any of you have the 2 year h.r requirment? If so did you just make a copy of the letter and submit it wiht the AOS documents??

Thanks for your help!

I'm currently on a J-1 visa and I've applied for a no objection waiver from my home country. My visa expires in November and I just got married in May. My understanding is if you already got the waiver, just send a copy of the letter from DoS with your package. They send notification to USCIS about it anyway, so they will have additional proof of the favorable recommendation. I had called their so-called "customer service" number and was advised that I can file my I-130 without the waiver, I just can't apply to adjust status yet. So, considering how long those things take to get approved at VSC, i did that already. Just waiting for my waiver so I can apply to adjust status. See my timeline for details of my journey so far.
