I quite like that the D2 allows you to do drag and drop - I really don't like to use synching programs like iTunes.

I've also lately found a freeware program that allows me to convert movie files to watch on the go - its pretty cool. 10 hours rated battery life on video - that's pretty damn good. A whole transatlantic flight's worth!

I have a 80 GB ipod classic and a 8 GB ipod touch both work great.

For crying out loud 6- quit convincing me with long battery life! :D

I'll be reading up on it a bit more...

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

 it is a really good player. The only down side is that its not so easy to use on the fly if you take it on a long run - as you have to stop to fiddle with the touchscreen. But its not a problem if you set up playlists beforehand.

However... there is no other player out there with anything close to that sort of battery life ;)

Well, if you read up on reviews about Zunes (which I did before I bought my iPod), they seem to have more trouble with defects and people didn't seem to like their music download service.

If you really just want to play mp3's, you might consider an off brand player. The only reason to choose an iPod over those (btw they are about twice as much) is for the graphic interface and the iTunes service. I don't download any videos from it, but I like the iTunes store for the games (saved me major boredom on my 4 hour layovers flying to Germany) and downloading individual songs. I think you can do that on Amazon, but it's all there together. Plus I can carry photos of my sweetheart with me on it. (L)

Oh, also consider if you want any accessories there's tons of choices for iPod and little to none for other players, including Zune.

BUT My fiancé has an off brand player which does the job fine for him.

Tbh, Zune sales are so pitiful that I wouldn't be surprised if they quit trying and drop support for it in the near future.

so it's not good if I use it when exercising? sexercising?

 I've not had a problem.

The pity is that the Zune is a cutdown version of a much better player - the Gigabeat S series. The player itself is plasticy (rather than aluminium) and the software you're forced to use limits what you can do with the machine.

I like my Zune. The only reason I got it was so that I wouldn't have to carry my old portable CD player and tonnes of CDs with me when I travel. Works just fine.
