I-693 / I-693a help required please!

Hi, I'm currently struggling with a few issues regarding applying for my adjustment of status relating to the medical information required to be sent.

The guide on this site for adjusting status states the following:

11. I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. (If you already have this from your overseas Visa Interview submit a copy that medical check form; No fee is required in this case. If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement (I-693A), not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.)

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?autocom=custom&page=k1k3aos

I had my full medical in London in February this year before getting my K1 approved and moving to the USA in March so I assume I only need the I-693A to be completed. Firstly, I cannot locate the I-693A form on the USCIS website - I can find the full blown I-693 but not the supplement (A) I require. Is this form still in existance or do I need to have a full medical again over here?

Also, I was given the vaccination supplement at the time of my medical, but not other information whatsoever.. is this normal? Will the doctors in London I went to for my medical have already filled out the full I-693 as part of my original K1 processing? (I went to the surgery on Bentnick Street by the way.) I'm wondering if I could call them and ask for a copy to be posted or faxed to me.

I guess I may not need to if someone could point me towards a copy of the I-693A, although without knowing the content required on this form I'm unsure if I can complete this myself without a GP signing it off.

Thanks for any help!

Darren.

You have to have a USCIS designated civil surgeon transfer your vaccination records to the I-693. USCIS is doing away with the Supplemental I-693 [i-693a].

He will give you a sealed envelope to submit with your I-485.

Sorry if I'm being really stupid - but does this mean now that I have to have another full medical again here in the USA, despite the fact I only had one four months ago in London?

Thanks again for any assistance, it's really appreciated.

No need the full medical in US if you've had a immigration medical with a year of applying for AOS.

Just have civil surgeon transfer vaccination records to the I-693.

No, you do not need to do another medical. All you need to do is to take either the vaccination worksheet copy that you were given from your medical or your vaccination records and take that to a designated Civil Surgeon. He has the I-693a form and will fill it out. I had not heard that they were doing away with the I-693a and since Haole made no reference to the source I would wait until something official is announced. Right now, VJ information is accurate. You are still required to show that you have satisfied all of the vaccination requirements for the AOS.

Now, if your vaccination worksheet shows that you have received all of the vaccinations that you require and did not require any more here in the States, you could take the risk of just sending in a photocopy of that worksheet with the AOS application and waiting to see if they will require an I-693a as well. Often times they do not. One of three things will happen: they will either send you an RFE (request for evidence) requesting it at which time you could submit it; B) they will approve your AOS without an interview and without requesting the I-693a, or they will request an interview at which time you would bring the I-693a with you. VJ members have gone on all three avenues.

Personally, I just submitted the worksheet I was given at my medical showing that I had either had all of the vaccinations or they were not medically appropriate/required. My AOS was approved without an interview and without a request for the I-693a. (I did have it done, however, intending to bring it to the interview - except we never had an interview).

So, there are some options for you. The quick response is that no, you don't need another medical UNLESS they send you an RFE specifically requesting the full medical. The supplement is all that is required - and then, not always. Good luck with your application.

You have to have a USCIS designated civil surgeon transfer your vaccination records to the I-693. USCIS is doing away with the Supplemental I-693 [i-693a].

He will give you a sealed envelope to submit with your I-485.

USCIS may be doing away with I693a, but they haven't done away with the requirement to prove you have been vaccinated when filing for adjustment.

I "think" USCIS is still accepting the Supplemental I-693 [i-693a] as the last I saw all civil surgeons aren't aware of the change yet.

This doesn't mention the K visa part but it's in the instructions for the I-693.

Hi Darren&Laura and Ziggymermaid,

Everybody is correct. No need for full medical exam. Check from one of the links given above for a designated Civil Surgeon in your area or state. Just bring the copy of your vaccination records given to you from your medical. They will transfer your record on the form and then the Civil Surgeon will signed it. Once done, they will give you a sealed envelope. You have to submit this sealed envelope together with your AOS application.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
