If you fill in your timeline we could know more about what is going on. If you just want to visit anytime is fine. If you are thinking about him returning with you , then wait to see when your interview is Nigeria is really slow about interviews. Tickets are medium cheap between late September and early November then the prices rise through the holidays. They get cheaper from late Jan until easter when the spike and then go down until summer when they return to being expensive.

Your profile says K1 visa. Have you filed yet ?

Welcome to VJ. However, if I am reading correctly, you say that you have only 5 days total for this trip? Please be aware that 2 of those 5 (and God forbid there are ANY flight delays) will be spent traveling to and from. If you believe that you can enjoy such a trip with such a short amount of time, then that is wonderful. It's good that you are planning ahead though. But also remember that if you are indeed going to file for the K1, you have to make sure to take pictures together, go various places doing so, etc....Not to mention just enjoying the company of your fiance. I wish you all the best and again, welcome to this wonderful forum here at VJ.

I am guessing you are talking about Thanksgiving week ( Thur-Fri holiday M-W vacation ) There is some increased travel at that time so cheap seat sell out early. Make sure that you get your passport and take care of all the requirements to travel. You need your passport , shots ( yellow fevor especially) malaria medication, and a visa to visit Nigeria . If you can take pictures with family members especially his parents.

Adding......I gather you will submit the petition as soon as you arrive back in the states. I also suggest you take all the forms that require his signature, so he can sign them before you leave. Are you sure you could not possibly stretch it at least another week or at least another couple of days? Hope your countdown until your visit moves quickly for the both of you!!!!!!!

Is it too early to buy my plane ticket to Lagos Nigeria. I am planning to get there by Nov 23. Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks all.

Hi,

the ticket price will be the same, price wise, but if u find a travel agent that accepts payments in installments, it will be easier for you to start making payments now, so that u will pay it off with ease. it is expensive to travel to Nigeria.

All good points, especially the pics with the family. The immunizations are pretty expensive if you get all that are recommended, I did, better safe than sorry. Once you go over there, you'll see why the need for them. I suggest you start having your fiance' look for a suitable hotel for you to stay in (if that's the route you'll be going). They are fairly expensive if you want to stay in a safe and decent area. Make sure you take misquito spray with Deet in it, I just came back from there and the misquito's LOVED me. Good luck in your journey!

hugs,

tess

A farmers tip for bugs . Consume some garlic and brewers yeast in the month before you go. You will taste nasty to them and they will bite someone else.
