AOS check not cashed yet

Hello. My wife is here on a fiancee visa. After we were married, she sent in the AOS request along with the EAD and AP requests via the post office. According to the post office, the application arrived in Chicago May 22. It's now one week later and the check hasn't been cashed. I called the USCIS help line and the automated voice said it could take up to 4 weeks for AOS to receive the request.

But, as I look at other people's timelines, it seems they were well beyond the check-being-cashed point one week after they mailed the application. Is this a recent phenomenon of week-long-check-ignorance in Chicago that is happening to others who applied for AOS or is this just happening to my wife?

It seems to vary between cases I have found. I have read some peoples who wasn't cashed for almost a month, whereas others have only taken a few days. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how these things proceed.

Remember that Monday was a non-working holiday for USCIS. Patience is the key. Each petition has its own timeline.
