Too bad. But the blooms look pretty and very different!

Found a picture of the typical magnolia blossom that we get.

When spring started these are what we got in our garden... first the daffodils and then the tulips. They are both gone by now and replaced by irises and roses.

im trying to find some pictures of some dogwood flowers i took a couple of months ago

Did u find the dogwood pix? Love the siggy pix of u and the baby BTW!

If this was asked 2 months ago I would have taken pics of any street in my area... the trees on both sides were full of little white flowers... it looked nice.. but they are now gone....

That's a shame that would have been lovely. There is still June!

Ewe! That new troll pix reminds me of the movie "Descent".

I so miss just hanging out in the Duke gardens this time of year.... One of my favorite things ever.

Gorgeous!

right now there's a flower festival in biltmore state in asheville

blue-ridge-parkway-vacation-asheville-nc-biltmore-mansion-gardens-640w-4110cet-60.jpg

me thinks I have to visit there!

ooooh, all such beautiful pix... maybe some of the wound tight folks in the political threads should stop by here for a little relaxation...

anywhooo, I know this isn't a flower in my region, and it's only a houseplant for me, but I got this hoya plant last year from a clipping and this year I had my first flowering. The little flower clusters almost seem fake. They feel like plastic.

What a sweet plant.

Magnolias are some of my all time favorites! They are so classy. I have the bath and body splash!

On my morning walk, this morning, I was pondering the various flowers that bloom in the different places I've lived.

I recalled in Texas that in April, and May we had blue bonnets, and buttercups, and indian paint brushes flowering the sides of the highways in spring. I miss that so much.

I didn't know you are from Texas, Olivia (or once lived here) -- what part ? I'm in San Antonio.

Well you didn't miss much this year with the bluebonnets and other spring wildflowers -- it was a very dry winter and spring, so not nearly the spectacular show that we get in better years.

But April and May *are* our best months for flowers -- here are some of the things blooming in my yard right now:

The first Lily of the Nile (agapanthus) -- many more are sending up buds:

What flowers bloom in our area?

All of them. We don't have any "bloom-less" flowers......

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

We don't get blue bonnets and buttercups in Idaho like in Texas. Pls post pix of what you get in your area or just be a spoil sport. :P

I love this one!

I was born in Temple, lived in San Antonio till I was 6, moved to Houston till I was 10, move to Idaho till I was 15, move to Austin till I was 19, did a summer in Dallas-Fort Worth, then back to Austin till I was 20, then back to Idaho till I was 23, then to Scotland, England, Norwary, and Denmark for three months, then back to Idaho, then back to Austin for 6 months, then back to Idaho, and somewhere in there I turned 29. My Mom lived 20 years in San Antonio and lived all over it but says a lot of it was in Alama Heights. She also lived in Monte Vista Historical District, and North San Antonio, And Northwest San Antonio, and North East San Antonio, and then up in the hill country and had some land on the Gualaupe River.

I have a hoya publicalyx silver pink which puts out about 13-16 bloom bunches at a time. It doesn't have a scent except at night. Check it some time around 9pm or so, or whenever it has just gotten fully dark and a few hours afterwards. Yours may be night-scented as well.

WOM, I love your pics! I really love your Tecoma stans. What do you have it on? Looks like your pond is filling in nicely as well! I have a spring in my backyard and I was thinking to dig out a basin around it, and make a small pond. I also have a ton of mosquitoes though, and that is the downside. I have a lot fo wild plants that are springing up in and around it though... watercress, cattails, snails, frogs, etc.
