A Special Thanks To Science

Science has taken quite a few hits over the last decade and has even become a topic for debate among non-scientists, so I thought we should take the time to show our appreciation for all the science that we benefit from.

I'll start. I'd like to thank whichever scientists invented the microwave oven. I know there were a few skeptics that held out for awhile - thinking that the hotdog they just cooked in their microwave was nothing but smoke and mirrors, but eventually everyone has come around to microwave cooking and although it will never replace traditional methods of cooking, there's nothing simpler than throwing a hotdog in the microwave for 60 seconds. Thank you science man and the science you used.

Do you like your TV remote? You can thank a scientist. How about your smoke alarms? Cordless tools? Just imagine what your life would be like without those 3 things alone? Scary, isn't it?

My nephew has diabetes. It's weird because he appears completely healthy and is not overweight. With that in mind I'd like to thank the following people:

Dr. Fredrick Banting, Charles Best (a medical student at the time of the discovery), Professor J. J. R. Macleod and Dr. James Collip. Also

Helen Free who invented the home diabetes test.

I would also like to take this time to curse science for overriding Natural Selection and allowing complete idiots, who wouldn't have otherwise survived the rigors of life on Earth, the ability to not only live but to flourish.

I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

Case in point:

Science may save this kid some day (if it hasn't already)!

the wife can change the channel, and i don't watch much tv anyways. smoke alarms - get a cat, they function as one. cordless tools are for people who don't like extension cords.....

i'd like to thank science for getting spam in my email box trying to sell my canadian viagra, breast implants, land in china, and so on. i'd like to thank science for 419 scams. i'd like to thank science for making it easier to commit identity theft. i'd like to thank science for global warming and smog.

when we stop worshipping god and start worshipping science, forgetting our spiritual side, that's when the alarms sound with me.

Percy Spencer was the one who came up with the Microwave Oven while working at Raytheon. He's an Engineer (Cough, so am I :P)

Today, we cannot live without engineers. From bank accounts, to road constructions, automobiles, etc...Engineers make it possible! Did religion made those things possible?

Your welcome. I appreciate you guys giving me credit. :P

Lol, ok, this is what happens when people don't think rationally about science.

Oh, but I don't like microwaves and I don't have one!

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
