Hi! VJ's.. I went to the bank this morning to notarized my I-864 for my husband petition. The girl in the bank filled out part number 9(Information on Preparer) of I 864 and notarized it. I did not say anything about it :innocent: but I thought that section is for somebody who made that application like an attorney acting in my behalf???? pls vj's help me clarify this issue...

I-864 doesn't need notarizing. I would do a new one if I were you.

I agree, you need to fill out a new I-864, the portion she filled out only applies to a person who completed the I-864 on your behalf, as you mentioned.

As pushbrk mentioned, the I-864 does not need to be notarized.

The only government form in the whole spouse or fiance(e) visa process that requires notarizing is the I-134, which is only used in K visa cases.

Covered above. The I-130 is for a spouse, right? Alone it doesn't result in a K visa, does it? You do not notarize an I-130 or any other USCIS or DOS petition, application or affidavit of support in an immigrant visa case. You do not notarize an I-864.

Clear now?
