What's the purpose of an immigrant visa if you're going to come back to your home country?

But hey, I know all too well. When I found out everything was all good with the visa ...

let's just say I was confused and walking in circles for about 2 hours. XD

The moral of my story: Stick with someone who matches your own culture.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )

Did you happen to check $$$$ for round trip? Just thinking it may be cheaper ~ not that he would use the return flight

LOL - if it's cheaper just get a mod-able ticket, "miss your flight", and ask for a credit towards a future flight. XD

Then take a vacation at some point down the road. :)

right I would look into that too. Roundtrips are sometimes $300-$400 cheaper. He can just never use the return flight. If money is not a factor for you just get the one way but if ur a bargain hunter, look for roundtrips too. I mean they won't question your husband on that, they see many people doing this. Its a smart method.

AP: Over 1 year.

Visa: Nov 2

US Entry: Nov 13, Alhamdulillah.

It even works for the CR1, just not the K1 or K3. The above advice is correct, sometimes it is cheaper.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

It is absolutely fine.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

We did a one-way ticket for the K-1 (cheaper in our case). Hubby had to talk the travel agent into it, but aside from that, nobody questioned him about it.
