I HAVE TO PASS A URINE TEST FOR MY JOB... SO I AGREE 100%

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I

pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In

order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test

with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the

distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I

have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no

problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other

hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their A##, doing

drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state

would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance

check ? Pass this along if you agree or simply delete if you don't. Hope

you all will pass it along, though . . . Something has to change in this

country -- and soon

Valid point, that does "piss" me off!

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Urine good hands.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I don't think a urine test should be required for "your" job.

I didnt write this, but do work for the state and a test was required as a hiring requirement

Employers get rebates from the state or summat like that if they maintain a drug free workplace....also, it provides a loophole if your ever injured on the job, cos workers comp won't cover anything if there's drugs in your system.

I can see why some employers see the benefit of doing so.

Oh, and yeah i agree!

I can't help but think of folks who are under heavy prescription medications which would come out in a tox screen.

Say, for instance, those taking dextro-amphetamines or anti-psychotics. Would you cut their social security because they are medicated? I would not.

I think the statement is a bit of a blanket one.

Something has to change you say: what exactly do you think should change? any ideas? I'm not being b1tchy, I'm honestly curious as to what you meant by change.

Well, I think there should be many more requirements in order to qualify for public assistance. No one ever listens to me, though.

A urine test would be just the start.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Whoa there, Nelly....meds prescribed by a doc don't 'count' towards a bad urine test. Usually it's just weed, coke, unprescribed pills, etc that are being looked for.

Dear Nelly-caller --- marijuana also has medicinal purposes for patients with cancer and severe arthritis and other bone ailments. And dextroamphetamines will come back in a tox screen as clear as meth.

If marijuana were legal I'll bet your neighbor could make a real killing.

No big business would take it over and get richer, the little dealer would get weeded out.
