I try to limit myself to calling the NVC to no more than twice a week, and try to force myself to once a week. When I was calling every day, it just lead to me getting worked up every night. Now I can sleep most nights.

Ok so my husband called USCIS 3 times today following the RFE trick instructions. Here's what happened -

First Call - The person who got his call didn't even know that our case was approved and told him to schedule an appointment with the local immigration office. :bonk: unbelievable!

Second Call - The guy he talked to said that our documents were sent out to NVC on April 23 which is... TODAY! 5 weeks almost... ugg :ranting:

Third Call - The guy he talked to again informed him that our case has been sent to NVC today, April 23 (we're still in doubt though not until we get our case # from NVC).

I'd believe they got shipped out today. You have 2 different people telling you that. The first person probably just made a mistake. When I called, I had a simliar problem, but I argued with the person and found out he had transposed the last 2 numbers when entering in my WAC number. So instead he was looking at the documents for someone who filed for a green card, not for K1.

I'm keeping my fingers that they were shipped yesterday and that by a slim chance mine was in with the bunch!!!

Okay, so I called CSC and pushed all the "appropriate" buttons for an approved petition. You just get a customer service rep who isn't even in California and they CAN'T even tell you where the file is. The guy even told me that if I was approved on March 24, 2008 then that's when it was shipped. Yeah, right.

So, then I called and used TBone's RFE trick. Call 1-800-375-5283. Hit 1, 2, 2, 4, 2, 1. Enter your receipt number. Then hit 1, 1. You should get an actual person at CSC who can look and tell you EXACTLY where your file is. I spoke to a REALLY nice lady (but I can't remember her name).

I told her my NOA2 date was March 24, 2008. On the NOA2 is says "If it has been more than four weeks since you received this approval notice and you HAVE NOT received notification from NVC that you petition has been FORWARDED OVERSEAS, please call the NVC at (603) 334-0700"

I told her I called them and they told me they didn't have it yet. So it must still be in California. She said she would look and put me on hold for a minute.

When she got back on the line she said once the NOA2 is issued, the cases go to an "NVC staging area" to await shipment. Mine left the staging area yesterday which means that it is on its way to the NVC. It left on April 21, 2008.

If you call this number and get someone who won't go look, just try back later. I'm hoping that all of you with March approvals are on the truck with me!!!!!!!!

Hello,

I wonder if they require the petitioner to call USCIS (using Tbone RFE trick) or can the beneficiary call too?

Is the receipt number the only thing that they ask?

Pls let us know!

Thanks :)

How many late March , early April CSC approvals have had their petitions received at NVC this past week? I called Friday night and was told it is taking 3-4 weeks and was told to call back the beginning and end of each week to check for receipt at NVC.....I'm becoming so impatient with CSC.....

Last time I called CSC on the 26th morning eastern time, they stil did not have our case. In fact, my fiance was told on the 23rd morning eastern time that the case had left CSC. Does it take a long time for NVC to assign the case number?? Is that normal that 3 days wasnt enough for the file to be forwarded from CSC to NVC and be assigned number?

Pls let me know what you guys think :(

My fiance is coming mid May,and I really want to come with him, together to States with a K1 visa :(

If it is any consolation, ours left the CSC facility on April 17th and didn't get to NVC untill the 22nd. I called NVC that morning, and they didn't have it in the system yet, but then I called again around 11:30pm, and it had been entered into the system already. Two different times seems to make a difference, but also not.

Here is to hoping that you all get your cases at NVC soon.

I called NVC tonight and was told it may take 3-4 weeks for them to receive the case and may be up to 90 days....come on now! 90 days? I asked if any day of the week was better than another to call and was told they can't know when cases will be received...so more of the sos....What I find amazing is that some approved from CSC in mid March still haven't been sent to NVC and some from early April have been received and sent to consulates already.....I see no logic to the whole situation!

There is no logic - it's the government!!! I know it's hard to wait. But on my NOA2 it stated to call NVC if it had been more than 4 weeks and I had not received notification of shipment overseas. That didn't help. All NVC would tell me is that it could take up to 90 days.

Once it's been 4 weeks, start calling California. Use TBone's RFE trick that gets you to a CO. I reposted it on this thread. I believe it's on page 4. I would agree with others that it is a good idea to get your congressman or senator involved. If it's been 4 weeks and isn't on it's way overseas, contact your representative. 90 days is rediculous!!!

I called CSC this morning and spoke to someone who has no clue what is going on...first she told me my petition will be sent directly to the embassy...then she said it can take up to 60 days to be forwarded to the NVC, but hasn't a clue why....

I've contacted my congresswoman's office already this morning and have prepared a timeline and letter to fax with my petition approval later tonight. I spoke to someone in her office that seemed very interested in the disparity between the two centers and the long waits imposed upon those who file in CA.

How did you get hold of someone at CSC to give you a straight answer as to when it was sent out?....I called there today and was told "Your case has been forwarded to the embassy" I told the rep...so sorry but that is not the case, it goes to NVC first. She hadn't a clue! I got so mad I called my state representative's office! Faxed my approval letter and a timeline of my case expressing my concerns over the disparity between the CSC and VSC's processing times and the length of time CSC holds the petitions before forwarding them on.

Call back and get someone who knows what they are talking about  This was my third call to finally get the info i needed, last time I called they told me I wasnt even apprvd then i said im holding the approval notice in my hand. I asked to speak to someone else and they told me i my case was still pending and to wait the full six months. What and idiot. Anyways u have to talk to someone who has a brain. Today i got an IO. Thank God .
