Ya, I remember when I went to Varanasi...I was told it was a small village also...but it was still 2 millionish people. In India though, that is considered small...and by Mumbai standards it is small! <haha>

Peace to all!

Yeah...Varanasi is where Sujeet's family moved from last year to Navi Mumbai.

You mean what used to be called Banares?

I was there many years ago. Still remember vividly, the naked holy men teeming on the river bank. :star:

Cool pix. I bumped the thread back to the top to keep it alive. ;)

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Kavi is SO CUTE! I bet Sujeet was really happy to see him after his time away :)

Yes Sujeet missed him too much while away, and was really excited to see him again. You know how it is, at these stages even 2 weeks is a big difference for a little baby's looks and actions. He regretted making the trip for so long and wishes he had made it shorter. :P The last 2 times he visited, he had tons of things to get done in India, so he thought he needed the same amount of time to just visit this year. But there wasn't anything to get done there besides visiting, so the time dragged for him while he missed Kavi.

I always look at the pic in your siggy and think ahead to when Kavi will be that age. And then I remember to treasure every moment because of how fast it goes.

Yes!

I used to be scared of baby boys. It's been so many girls in my family, and then friends having baby girls. And my one cousin who is a boy was a complete nightmare as a kid, annoyed the heck out of all of us and was a trouble maker. So I always said I wanted girls, just girls. hehe. But then one friend had a baby boy and he was sooo sweet, and still is at 8yrs old so he helped me want a boy too. :D And I had a feeling when I got pregnant that it was going to be a boy.

Banaras/Benares... we still call it that. I think the Anglicized name is Varanasi.

Yeah I call it Varanasi but Suj and his fam call it Banaras or Benares too. It is confusing when you learn the different names for Indian cities. Bombay/Mumbai, Calcutta/Kolkata, Dilli/Delhi...etc. I try to be correct but if you talk about it to people they only know the Anglicized names usually.
