Hi, although I have not received my NOA2 yet, I am trying to get things together for NVC. Regarding the financial information requested: what type of information is needed in the letter from the employer? My situation is that I'm a graduate student and have had a fellowship that puts me over the 125% for the past 2 years, and also will have this same fellowship next year. AFter that, i'll probably get some kind of assistantship for the next couple of years, but I can't say this for sure. Are there any other grad students out there sponsoring their spouses? And if so, what do you put in your letter?

I'm starting to seriously contemplate applying for a FT job on campus and just be a part-time student in the fall. But w/ my fellowship, I'm already over the 125% mark, I just don't know how it is going to be evaluated as employment. (although it is what pays my bills and as much time that's involved, is already a FT job! ) I can envision getting a letter from the grad college stating that this is my fellowship for 2008-09, for instance, but is that going to be enough for NVC to go on?

Thanks in advance for any advice or comments.

The letter from your employer (the unversity, I assume) should state: date employment began, employment status (full time, part time, contract, whatever) position title, annual salary or hourly wage. It should be an original on letter head with an original signature and a contact phone number. I am sure your school can come up with something to fit the needs. Good luck!
