Hello,

I have questions about employment letter that I need to submit for AOS. I have 2 jobs, one is full time and the other is part time. Does the letter need to say if I work full time or part time? I got paid hourly on the part time job, do I need to write the hourly rate?

Thank you

Each of your employers should write a letter, on company letterhead, stating the date you started, your position, whether the position is temporary or permanent and your salary.

It should be signed by someone in human resources or management.

Do I need to say part time and my hourly pay rate for my part time job? My other employer already gave me an employment letter, but it doesn't say permanent basis, is it gonna be ok or I need to get another one?

Yes, I would clarify that one job is part-time, and state the average amount of hours per week, and the hourly rate of pay.

And, yes, you should get another letter from your full-time employer as follows:

To Whom it May Concern:

(Your name) has been employed by (the Company Name) since (the date you started) in the position of (your position title) at a salary of ($ amount). This position is permanent and not temporary.

If you require any additional information, you may contact me at (phone number)

Sincerely,

(H.R. Person's name)

I think, it would be fine. I see no problem about it since my hubby too had two jobs but in the letter it didn't say anything about permanent though when I organized the AOS application i put the First Job employment letter first then pay stubs, followed by the part time job employment letter and so on. Just indicate it in your cover letter too. That's just my idea. Hope this helps. :) Good luck!

Hello raymaga,

Thank you for your reply. I have few more questions I'd like to ask.

1.) For my full time job. Does it need to mention about full time basis?

2.) For my part time job. Does it need to say permanent or temporary position?

1) The more important factor is your salary, in order to verify that you meet the poverty guidelines. So, you can say it's full-time if you wish.

2) If it were me, I would have it mentioned that the job was permanent if it is. If not, I would probably not mention that it's temporary.

Just my opinions.

Good luck.

Can I fax it there? Does it need to be an original? I dont have the time or the money to fedex a silly

letter to Peru. Rosa's meeting is March 26. I call it silly because they will have my W2's, bank letter

and tax returns for 3 years. I am also a gov employee and they can see that from the mass of

documents provided. What more could they possibly need???

Question about employment letter as well.

A quick rundown of my situation: Just got married two months ago, trying to put all this together myself (such a headache), my wife is from Brazil, is here on a B-1/B-2 Visa, I'm a student but I do have a part-time job, as such I'm below the poverty-line, I have a relative that's co-sponsering with me.

Ok so my question is do both me and my relative co-sponser need to provide letters from our employers? What do the letters need to say if so? And are they absolutely necessary at this point? Also, letters from the bank, what's that about?

We are so close to finally finishing all of the initial forms and stuff and then this letter thing popped up. I bought a do-it-yourself kit and there really is no info on the letters other than a quick mention on a checklist.

Thanks for any help you can offer. This website is a real blessing.
