This is why I would rather listen to my CD's or public radio... you can hear up and coming NON COMMERCIAL artists. :)

Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley) anyone? Epic songwriter

Never heard her, but I'll put her on my list.

I've been listening to Brandi Carlile lately.

Ya, I was going to say "if you like tori.. check out a fine frenzy" :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Used to love Tori quite a bit, especially in my college days. I haven't listened to her in forever. I just picked up that last album she did since I haven't even heard it yet.

I would encourage any Tori fans to also check out Sarah Slean. She's a Canadian singer/songwriter/piano player much in the same vein.

Jewel and Alannis Morrisette should never be placed in the same discussion as Tori Amos and Fiona Apple.

That said, I'm always pimping her, but you should check out Cat Power if you like Tori Amos. It gives me chills when her vocals kick in on this song:

I love Cat Power but seeing her perform live made me want to demand my money back!

NO

her aloof live preformance is part of her

I did an afternoon with Cat Power, it was just over two hours of just her, a guitar and piano

after that i wanted to give her more money

and everything else i owned

Ugh Cat Power. DO NOT WANT.

I hate that lady. She's vulgar (posing in The New Yorker showing your pubes??), untalented (way to show off your three chords sweetheart) and self-obsessed (see: any interview). I have no idea why people like her so much.
